Trying not to worry but a lymph node in my armpit swelled up. I feel fine, no colds, fevers or recent vaccinations. Even did a Covid test because I have had Covid totally asymptomatic but negative.
Has anyone have this happen and it turned out to be nothing. Hoping this is just a fluke but it seems like a repeat as what I experienced with Calquence when it stopped working last year. Maybe it is just a question of taking the full dose, I am still at a reduced dose because of my episode of PRES which happened during ramp up of Venetoclax. The joys of CLL and yes, I see my oncologist on Thursday.
Happy and healthy New Year to you all!

Hi Alex. I'm sorry you are experiencing this and I can only imagine how frightening this is for you. There are many things from infection somewhere in your body, to inflammation that can cause a lymph node enlargement. Its also possible to have lymph node enlargement prior to developing symptoms of an infection . So, you may yet show symptoms of an infection. I know our minds rush to the worst case scenario . How have your labs been ? They are a good indicator of the effectiveness of our treatments. Hoping all goes well at your appt Thursday. 🤗
When Zanubrutinib slowly stopped working for me, my lymphocyte count got to 25 before I noticed slight swelling in nodes in my armpit. I imagine that's the best indicator of how things are going.
It’s best to get this information to your doctor asap and not wait for the appointment especially if it’s been happening for several days already. Talk to the on-call oncologist if your facility has one.
Could be nothing but it’s best to always to be proactive with anything new items sooner than later.
when i reported a swollen lymph node to my oncologist at mda he dismissed it and said we all get swollen lymph nodes from time to time. let me know if it increases in size. the jerk. maybe he was right to taike that approach as sure enough it seemed to get better....thank goodness. i had no infections;sypmtoms at the times either
About 3-4 years ago, I had a swollen lymph node under my chin. My FNP wanted to do a CT scan. We were leaving on week vacation the next day so I convinced him to give me an antibiotic. By the time we got back from vacation, the lymph nodes had disappeared.
I stopped venetoclax over a year ago. I had a very slight lymph node swelling that the dr said he couldnt feel but I could! nevertheless, labs show no advancement in disease process and that was 3 months ago. That was at the beginning of covid/flu season. I was happy to know my body is doing what it's supposed to do... fight infection even when we feel mostly asymptomatic. As CLL patients, we are always on high alert. It's awesome to be on top of things, but harder to relax at times. Best at your next appointment!
