Lung Transplant Assessment
Yesterday I had my lung transplant assessment appointment at the Harefield Hospital fully aware that it was going to be a full on experience packed full of tests and various meetings with members of the lung transplant team where I'd be being given an awful lot of information to process. I'm really

Post liver transplant, can you take treatment for cancer?
Someone suggested to me that liver transplant patients were unable to take treatment offered for cancer. Is there any, some or no truth in this statement (does anyone know) ?

A Little Advice Needed
I've had my kidney transplant since July 1990 and I've had some episodes similar to the one now. According to my latest lab tests my Creatinine is 4.73 and my BUN is 55 with trace amounts of protein and ketones in my urine. The only other lab out of range was my phosphorus. All other labs are completely

Big week, big challenges
Next weekend I'm walking from Camber Sands to Margate as I look to take on the Big 100. 65+ miles over two days isn't going to be easy but I'm really looking forward to the challenge which will also be a good test for my lungs. It'll also be really good for me, mentally. The pneumothorax really hit

COPD query
Hello I am just wondering whether anyone could help me out. I have had asthma from a young age so my breathing has never been the best as it is. My nan had COPD and both my dad and grandad have Emphysema. My grandad is still alive and doing okay despite only having one and a half lungs. My dad passed

Did anyone watch the heart transplant programme on BBC?
Hey, everyone. I would really like to watch the documentary about heart transplant that was shown on BBC recently, but I'm a bit scared. I started watching it a few days ago but began freaking out a bit as soon as it began - think I made it literally a few seconds in before panicking and switching

A year and four months out...
Was your transplant from a living donor or a cadaver? I remember getting a call from the Emory Transplant Center at about one o'clock in the morning telling me they had a matching kidney and to get there within four hours. This is my second kidney transplant, the first was from my mother.

Need some help about kidney issues
Just found out they want to do a kidney biopsy on me. I am refusing the biopsy. I know why my kidney are going down hill so fast. It's because of the infusions I am getting. I will not stop the infusions because it's the only thing I have to some kind of pain relief. So the told me that I might need

SLOW BOAT TO KNOW WHERE
I'm going to have a small moan. I'm with the QE hosi in Brum and God only knows how good they are. They were amazing during my 1st liver transplant but I did go in under the super emergency list. This time though I feel like I'm being messed around. My liver packed up last Dec and was placed bk on the
