Just to say hello my name is C.J. Ellis Fisher and I am a kidney transplant recipient going to round 3rd base to head to home on my 29th year in Julye with my transplant. Right now I've been caught in a rundown between 3rd and home plate as now my creatinine level has risen and my BUN. Hopefully I can dodge and slide into home for my 29th year on July 14th. Other than that I wanted to say hello.

Introduction
Congratulations! Hope you make a grand slam home run asap! Don’t be discouraged if your creat goes up. Sometimes it just takes the new kidney time to adjust to its new home. I was donor to my husband. He had a very rocky start but kidney is great 3 years post transplant. Keep us posted!
Thanks. Hopefully all will be well tomorrow and I am hoping it is something simple. My prayers and thoughts to your and your husband and I hope he is doing well.
Were you on dialysis pre transplant?
I was on dialysis, parenteral dialysis for about a year before I got my transplant.
29 years! That's amazing! Was it a living donor or deceased donor?
Deceased. All that we were told is that someone had died in a motorcycle / car crash. That is all we really know. But July 14th, 1990 is when my surgery was so I was off a year it will be 28 this year. Sorry. Just like me age I tend to loose count.
Thank you. I had a deceased donor in June of 2016 as well. 28 years is really great to hear. Congrats on the labs, those are good numbers. Summer's coming, stay hydrated!
Hey my transplant is july 12 what a coincidence. That’s amazing that you’re doing this a third time. This is a forst for me so I’m new to everything but this forum page has helped aleviate unknown factors in the equation
So got my results today and my creatinine went down from 5.79 to 1.93 and 1.93 is my base line range due to my age and history. BUN went from 55 to 31 and all other labs are okay. Not sure if I was just over dehydrated or what but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Congrats on almost 28 years! Way to go, awesome! In October I will be 19 years post transplant. I wish you the very best and hope all will just calm down. I know I have had a few labs this last year that turned out not so good with elevated creatinine. My body was just trying to keep me on my toes, and all settled back down. Hope yours does the same thing.. Please keep in touch and let us know that all is well!
Prayers and thoughts are with you!
Congratulation on having your transplant. You certainly have a positive attitude and I believe that takes up the majority of the battle when it comes to dealing with this terrible disease. One thought that might help you along--have you given any thought to asking your doctor to refer you for a nutritional consult? Maybe a change in diet will enable you to make it to home plate? I have read a lot lately about how people can slow down the progression of kidney disease by better managing what they eat. Keep me posted on how things go. I am pulling for you. My son is 2 1/2 years since transplant and is doing good. Our only issues are dealing with the steroid side effects messing with sleep, energy, and weight.
Hey CJEF that is great. I am going on 29th year in July. Mine was also a cadaveric transplant. If i may ask, were did u have your transplant at? I have had an issue with my creatinine rising from .7 were it has been consistently for all these years to 1.3. Dr said to watch diet and take in more fluid. I am glad to see yours has gone down so keep up the good work.
