Hi folks, only recently joined the group and I'm reading in a lot of the posts that people have been referred to a specialist/consultant. Is this the norm? I was diagnosed Sept '21 but because of Covid I've not even seen a doctor! Was on pred from Sept '21 to November '22. I was ok when tapering down

Colonoscopy side effects
I had a colonoscopy earlier this week . I learned on friday that it showed i had collagenous colitis. i will be prescribed steroids. Since the colonoscopy i have developed horrific lower back pain which conventional pain killers don’t help. Can’t take anti inflammatory drugs as on blood thinners.

Hashimotos - inflammatory arthritis - hydroxychloroquine
Hi I have Hashimotos and a multitude of other ‘little conditions’ as you’ll all know. My main pain atm is my swollen finger joints. Due partly to covid I just had useless phone consultations with a rheumatologist and his locums. All saying you have osteoarthritis take an aspirin. Then a couple of months

Would anyone be willing to share the past DVLA Group 1 Visual Field Test Results and DVLA response.
Hi All, I am a 50 year old male from England. I was recently advised by my consultant that I should report my Glaucoma to DVLA. Which I have done a few weeks ago and straight away got a letter from them to go and get a Group 1 Visual Field Test at Spec savers. Yesterday was the day of the big

PMR flare or not.
hi every one, I am at the moment in Barcelona. I’ve had a bad stomach upset which has mostly cleared up. But because I was laid up in bed for a couple of days, which caused a bad case of sciatica. Hello. It’s been a while since I’ve posted but background is I have unmedicated Hashimotos and have been feeling extra exhausted recently and now on painkillers for my painful thyroid gland (which is also multi nodular). My gland now feels very swollen to the point I’m getting jaw and ear ache and tender

Bioflex PMBT Device
Does anyone have any information or experience with the photobiomodulation (light delivered via low level laser) therapy device sold by the Bioflex Company located in Toronto, CA? Their claim is it energizes mitochondria, lowers inflammation, and promotes healing. Thanks - John G

Hello 👋
Hi, we are all happy to have you in the group and share your insight. There is a very strong genetic component to this. My mom, brother and I all have anxiety and depression. I have been diagnosed with bipolar 2. I've tried ketamine tablets and found it effective but had to stop because it's costly.

Waiting time for laproscopy...please help.
Hi,I'm new on here and seeking support. I have been referred to my local hospital for a laproscopy to check for endometriosis as well as blockages after experiencing changes to my periods, which started almost 2 years ago. To give context, my periods were fine up until 2021. I then started to experience

”CONFUSED” UPDATE
Well, I increased my Pred to 9 mg for 5 days but didn’t go straight back to my previous dose (4.5mg) but went to 6mg. So far the flu-type symptoms have gone but I still have a low-grade headache, plus pain in both shoulders and in the neck. I have tried taking paracetamol but this only has minimal

Does anyone else over 60 with Glaucoma pay for eye lubrication in the UK ?
Apparently North East Essex patients have to pay for eye lubricants, also some areas of Somerset. Does anyone else ? It would be very useful to know. HRT now only costs £20 a year available to all women (probably only needed for a few years), so why not all Gaucoma medications ? Is lifetime conservation

hi, I’ve had RA for about 13 years. Well managed recently with Erelzi…prior to this I was on humira and had to switch to Imtaldi, biosimilar due to my hospital suggestions as it was cheaper. mot wasn’t as effective and it took months to get back on an even keel and be well managed again! now I’m

I have irregular bleeding, but no regular periods, sporadic pain which I am dealing with pain killer. The frequency of severe pain seems less, but still quite often I have pain in the morning

Dreadful Anxiety
I have suffered from anxiety for decades. It has mostly been under control with medication, EMDR and therapy. I also suffer from bi-polar and PTSD. My Psychiatrist has put me on Zoloft (50mg), but it is not helping. In fact, I feel more anxious on it. Maybe it is not a high enough dose for me. I am

Decided to opt out of at home hospice after six weeks
I feel good. I do not even feel sick. I still am on strong pain meds, but I no longer need the walker (the enhertu infusion from hell). The nurse comes twice a week at first and I said No, not necessary. So they cut it down to once a week. It is ridiculous. The nurse writes to her boss (the doctor

Rapid onset of burning in joints at rest and worse when moving
My conditions are in my bio (plus a new one… granulamatosis angiitis of the brain and cns). I’ve had pain in some of my joint (hands and feet) that are easily attributed to swelling and nerve damage. Pain in right hip and leg
I have been getting pain & tingling in my right hip and leg since June 2022. I though it was sciatica at first but when I went to my GP she sent me for an MRI which showed Spinal Stenosis. No amount of pain killers help & still waiting for physio. GPS has suggested Amiltripline, has anyone used
