Rapid onset of burning in joints at rest and worse when moving

My conditions are in my bio (plus a new one… granulamatosis angiitis of the brain and cns). I’ve had pain in some of my joint (hands and feet) that are easily attributed to swelling and nerve damage. Nothing new there. But over the past month I started feeling burning in most of my major joints (shoulders, elbows, hands, feet, and knees). It feels like it’s in the muscles near the joints. No amount of pain medication helps (including a compounded cream with baclofen and gabapentin), nor the IVIG or Rituxan. It has gotten to the point where it is very difficult to raise my arms, grasp a full 20oz glass of water, take off clothes, walk very far, etc.

The rheumatologist seems to think this is “normal” within the confines of my diseases, but with how fast it has come on and my blood work only had abnormal RDW and ESR it is the first time I’ve had this (since this all started a decade ago). I was told a few years ago to expect bad to get worse and debilitation to set in (loss of various functions). From what others have experienced, could that possibly be what this is - the start of loss of function? None of the specialists ever told me what to expect. Any thoughts/suggestions people might have would be much appreciated!

Hello, you have such multitude of conditions, it's impossible for me to comprehend. There is no advice or help I can send you. If you think you have Rheumatoid Arthritis then I recommend that you go to the NRAS website where you'll find very good fact based information about the decease and living with it. My heart goes out to you. All the best.

You have a complicated medical history! Whether you also are developing Rheumatoid Disease is also a complicated one to answer and I don't think that any non-specialist could attempt an answer! Please nag your medical team - but they may well say, wait and see, but if your symptoms are debilitating (and they sound that) then you need to nag them into doing something about that anyway, whatever the cause..
