I have suffered from anxiety for decades. It has mostly been under control with medication, EMDR and therapy. I also suffer from bi-polar and PTSD.
My Psychiatrist has put me on Zoloft (50mg), but it is not helping. In fact, I feel more anxious on it. Maybe it is not a high enough dose for me. I am not sure. I am wondering of there is another SSRI that is better.
It is my experience that a combination of therapies work best for me.
I am wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Years ago I tried Zoloft and it made me very nervous. I don't remember the dose. I have had good success with Wellbutrin (generic bupropion) for depression which also helps anxiety. It's an NDRI, not an SSRI. You need to give most mood drugs a good 6-8 weeks to see if they work, only raising the dose as per doctor's order. I've bailed on some sooner if I was too unhappy with the side effects.
Hi, Did your doctor put you on another SSRI after the Zoloft? I too have tried many different meds. All with side effects. I would agree with you about the Zoloft. It is a nervousness issue. Thank your for responding.
I think I tried Prozac, mirtazapine, paxil. It was a long time ago and I don't remember the order until I got to Wellbutrin, before there was even the generic bupropion. I'm now trying Auvelity which is new and contains bupropion but is not recommended as a treatment for anxiety. My anxiety is manageable and I only occasionally take xanax or Clonazepam.
I take 60mg of Paxil for my anxiety. It has helped me. I am going to add Wellbutrin for my depression. EMDR works great. Keep up the process. Sometimes it takes awhile. Good luck!
Good morning... Years ago I took Paxil. I am wondering if it may work better than the Zoloft. The Psychiatrist put me on the Zoloft because of my PTSD as well. I have been struggling with this for nearly a year. I appreciate you for reaching out.
