Quinine and Rivaroxaban
I am
pacemaker
dependant having had an av node ablation. Having given up all alcohol, which I used to really enjoy I have very infrequent episodes of AF. I have replaced my Gin and Tonic with a non alcoholic spirit and sugar free tonic.

Ablation No 4
I had my 4th ablation on Friday at the Royal Brompton and have ended up with a
pacemaker
due to Sick Sinus Syndrome. Apart from the usual tiredness and bruising I feel fine. Have noticed a few ectopic beats but after being in AF since mid July it's nice to see NORMAL on my Kardia. All the best Tim

Has anyone had their ablation abandoned due to phrenic nerve?
My EP said a
pacemaker
is also an option, but she doesn't like putting pacemakers into people as young as me - I'm 35 and don't feel young! So far the new medication seems to be working much better than the previous medication. But I know it's only been three days.

Pacemaker fitted 2 weeks ago for sudden heart failure
I now have a
pacemaker
which has saved my life....god bless the NHS, but am in daily agony with my arthritis. I can’t have CBD oil either as my other medications contraindicate it. Does anyone have any ideas how to control my pain?

Non-Pulmonary Vein AF and Amiodarone
If this one fails I'm told I will need a
pacemaker
, which is all rather worrying. I'm a fit 65 year old. I've been on Amiodarone for three months, now my cardiologist want to extend it by another three months. Has anyone suffered any problems after taking Amiodarone for six months?

Good News Bad News
One of my partner's aunts, who was having heart problem , went into a hospital to have a
pacemaker
inplanted. But they found stage 4 lung cancer somehow in the process.

Asymptomatic AFIB - What's Next
I've had a non-defibrating
pacemaker
that long for another issue. I transmit my
pacemaker
data by telephone (using a Medtronic device) every 90 days, and have an in-person check twice annually. My in-person check last week revealed that I am in AFIB 40% of the time.

Pacemaker and covid
I have tachycardia bradycardia and will be having a dual chamber
pacemaker
fitted on November 25th, hoping it still goes ahead with the new lockdown announcement last night, would I be classed as clinically vulnerable, I didn’t get a letter to shield last time as I was only diagnosed last week.

Pacemaker set base heart rate
At the
pacemaker
clinic yesterday I got them to change my base rate from 50 to 60. With the base rate at 50 I thought I was getting hypoxia, cerebral hypoglycaemia etc., as I felt rough on waking or after sitting for a while… e.g. I could not concentrate enough to play chess.

Pacemaker
He told me that if I was 65 I’d need a
pacemaker
no hesitation but as I’m 47 I’d need it replaced too many times so he’d discuss the options at my appointment. 10 days on I’ve had my appointment today as as I’m getting a few symptoms with the pauses he’s decided a
pacemaker
is the only option.
