I have tachycardia bradycardia and will be having a dual chamber pacemaker fitted on November 25th, hoping it still goes ahead with the new lockdown announcement last night, would I be classed as clinically vulnerable, I didn’t get a letter to shield last time as I was only diagnosed last week.

Pacemaker and covid
Summarising from last night's announcement:
"More than 2million people who shielded in the previous national lockdown will instead be asked to minimise contact with others, and not go to work if they’re unable to work from home. "
Personally to me the whole shielding scheme became discredited with people who should have been shielding ignoring it and others who need not have shielded getting letters and taking advantage!
Getting a letter or in my case several letters last time ( though not for heart problems or pacemaker) made no difference whatsoever, I couldn't get any shopping delivery slots and wasn't offered any help so just had to carry on as usual ! It wasn't a case of ignoring it MichaelJH it was a case of not having a choice.
I have an appointment at the cardio clinic on Thursday (to review my dual lead/chamber pacemaker) and they called me to ask if I still wanted to go in, and to check if I had any covid-like symptoms.
