I’ll be having a dual chamber pacemaker fitted in November 25th as I have very recently found out I have tachy brady syndrome. My father in law has a pacemaker and he was telling me that he has something plugged into his bedroom that is connected with his pacemaker and asked me if I’ll have one of these too, i haven’t got a clue and this is all very new and unexpected so if anyone can shed some light on this I’d be most grateful thank you

I have a dual chamber pacemaker. I don’t have anything plugged in, but I go and get it “read” once a year at the hospital. I’ve had it 6 years. It’s changed my life as I used to pass out a lot. Best thing ever.

I had my pacemaker fitted in 2013, I have a Boston Scientific Pacemaker and also a Latitude unit in my bedroom. I can send a report to the hospital if they need to check my pacemaker also if I feel unwell I can also send a report.

I also have a dual chamber pacemaker. I've had it for ten and a half years now. I used to go to the hospital to get it read. But I now have a "MyCareLink" at home that I use once a month to send reports to the hospital. I can also send a quick report any time I feel unwell and get a callback to let me know the result...I still have yearly review/check at the hospital.

I, like tripup, also used to pass out a lot but the pacemaker has made a difference and improved my quality of life. Best wishes and hope all goes well for you!
