High heart rate with Flexanide?
One ablation and
pacemaker
5 years ago. Second ablation scheduled for early January. EP just started me on flecanide, 50mg/twice daily, in combination with metaprolol 25mg/twice daily. Since then, my resting heart rate has been around 110. Has anyone else had this issue with flexanide?

Pacemaker fitting complications
Many hours in A&E, blood tests, ecgs, X-ray, heart scan and
pacemaker
check, when the pacing team altered the
pacemaker
settings the jolting started up, the wire was irritating my diaphragm.

Pacemaker question
Certainly the holter will have recorded significant information about my problem The cardio discussed possible causes and he mentioned that the
pacemaker
could be an issue in the future. Has anyone had experience of this at all please.

Pericarditis and pericardial effusion
I was discharged on Saturday 6th December, after developing pericarditis and a pericardial effusion followed my
pacemaker
fitting and lead displacement and needing both leads replaced, I was still in a lot of pain especially at night.

UPDATE Pace or Ablate - now completely confused
So I made a decision after all your helpful comments and careful consideration to go with a
pacemaker
.

Very informative discussion with cardiologist
What all this means for me is that I either have to put up with frequency, extremity and duration of PAF or opt for a
pacemaker
but it is not a matter of urgency. I’m thinking I’ll go for the
pacemaker
next year when things (hopefully) have settled.

I don't quite understand AF, normal heart rate, and pacemakers
So does a
pacemaker
give you a regular heart rate (pulse), but you still have AF?? How is that possible that you're heart is a-quivering but you get a regular pulse? I'm not even sure if I'm using the correct terminology or if I'm confusing myself. Thank you in advance!!!

I'm new here and just had a pacemaker generator replacement
Hi, I had my
pacemaker
generator replaced but can't remember what I was told to do afterwards. Blame the sedation! How long do you keep the compression socks on? And what about getting the wound wet? I've had a pulmonary embolism in the past and have SVT.

Who benefits from pace maker.?
Can anyone explain why some are excluded from having a
pacemaker
. I am suffering from breathlessness, ef of 43%, irregular heart beat, left ventricular failure. So which of these doesn't warrant a pace maker? Also GTN spray? My BP is low. Thank you. I just want to check that I've got it right.

One lead pacemaker
After speaking to cardiology consultant yesterday ,he thinks my best bet is to have a
pacemaker
fitted ,,,as my heart rate goes down as low as 36 & jumps to 85 within seconds ,and can last quite a while doing this , leaving me feeling knackered & not in great shape after it , I should say I’ve had AF
