Neoadjuvant Androgen Deprivation Therapy in Prostate Cancer (with surgery)
Here is a link to a recent and fairly comprehensive multi-section set of articles on the use of neoadjuvant (i.e., treatment begun before the main treatment and continued alongside the main treatment) ADT. The articles are mainly about ADT and surgery, but also contain a small amount of information

Feeling rough
Hi everyone , As some of you know I’ve been struggling with a urine infection, I’m now at the end of taking a second round of antibiotics, I’ve also started taking d-mannose, it’s still on going, on top of this I’ve now got a chest infection. I honestly feel I’m falling to bits. My question is, should

Metastasis Directed Therapy (MDT) is here to stay for Oligometastatic Patients!!! Part (2) Cryo and Thermal Ablation
Greetings FPC Members, Metastasis Directed Therapy (MDT) is becoming a standard of treatment in oligometastatic patients. For my next items, I would like to see where we are using cryosurgery and thermal ablation (laser, radiofrequency or photodynamic) in MDT. Since my initial post, I found an interesting

I wondered if anyone else suffers with Urinary irritation, it feels similar to a bladder infection but tests prove negative
My GP has had me on antibiotics for a week but no better. The only change is my Neurologist has doubled my co-beneldopa dosage to 25mg/100mg 3 x day. Could this be the cause of urinary irritation.

General Anaesthetic worries
I have been in hospital with gall bladder problems. I will need to have it removed as soon as possible. I had an ablation last October and so far so good with a few bumpy bits. Has anyone had experience of a general anaesthetic after a successful ablation. Should I be worried about this

General anaesthetic recovery period
I have a problem in that I have to have a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic the day after tomorrow and it had been arranged that my daughter would stay with me for 24 hours as advised by hospital. She now finds that she can't do this - for reasons I don't fully understand - and that she would stay

Wetting Bed
I am only 61 but continue to wet the bed🤦🏻♂️. I searched on the topic, but not much advice. My other issues: 1. I have had the gastric sleeve; it is imperative I remain hydrated. 2. I wore Depends last night, but with a 29” waist, the S/M don’t work very well as evidenced by last night. I thought

Endo, interstitial cystitis and IBS - anyone else?
Hello! I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis back in 2017 after a laparoscopy and in October I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis after another operation. I also have suspected PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). Yesterday, after years of symptoms and a few weeks of tests, I have been diagnosed

In middle of being diagnosed
I had my gallbladder removed 15 months ago and have had terrible bouts of diarrhoea since I sometimes get a warning of gurgling sore stomach and know to get to a loo quick!! If not I’ve had accidents 😣 I’ve been attending the doctor about it and he’s been very good, he arranged a colonoscopy and thankfully

How long does PSA stay down after chemo?
Just finished my tenth session of taxotere. It dropped my PSA over 80% to under 5 and my alk Phos over 80% to 61. The doc wants me to take a few months off the have my body recover. The last two sessions kicked the stuffing out of me. For those that have had Taxotere how long did you see your drop

Update on my dad, he continues on the above combo treatment. His PSA keeps decreasing and his liver tumors keep shrinking. Very hopeful, it’s now been a one year that his liver was invaded by the prostate cancer.

Has anyone had a joint surgery?
Hi, I had a scan and an appointment with my consultant earlier this week. I have to have more surgery but before they can operate I'm being referred to a bowel specialist. My endo spread is quite far up my rectal passage and my intestines. They want to investigate if it is internal before operating but
