Terrified

Hi am new to the forum and terrified I went into hospital with gallbladder pain and told had a fatty liver with a high fib 4 result ,being referred to liver consultant.So frightened cant sleep or think of anything else after reading info on line.

Hello and welcome to the forum - you will get good support from fellow members. It is scary to be told that there is something wrong with your liver and I am afraid that Dr Google tends to intensify that fear! On a positive not - it is much better to know that there is an issue and find out what to do about it than not to know. Fatty liver is very common in the western world.

Hi do you mind me asking what symptoms you where having for gallstomes and if you had blood tests before being hospitalised? I'm not sure what fib 4 is but guessing it's something to do with the liver being fatty? Hope your not as scared now and being informed and looked afyer by Dr's ect.

Hi I had pain in the centre just under my rib cage went on for about 40 mins I thought it was my heart.Went to A&E ruled out heart had LFT which was high.They let me home, then went back for ultrasound found a gallbladder full of stones and a fatty liver.Am now waiting the results of an MRI and referral to liver consultant. Still scared and struggling to function thinking the worst.

Thank you for your reply.You must of been so scared with pain like that but I had heard gallstones ate so painful.

It's good they are now reffering you to a consultant. Thought they would of got on with the MRI straight away!!

Did they give you any advice on treatment or just to wait to see the consultant?

Ive been getting pain just below the sternum and under my right breast under the ribs now especially when I eat or drink anything. Myblood tests came back satisfactory for liver and kidneys but I know soemthing isn't right.

I have had the MRI waiting for results was just told I would be referred to liver team for fatty liver and surgical team for gallbladder.All a bit of a blur at the moment.Hope you get it sorted.
