Fusion - Confusion!
Hiya, I've just been told my MRI showed up adhesions and fusing of my bits to other bits within my pouch of douglas and I need surgery to remove this. I've already had 2 laparoscopies for my endo but wondered if anyone else has experienced this surgery and what I should expect. Any advice and chat would

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss & congenital hypothyroidism
I have just been diagnosed with this hearing loss by a private ENT consultant which is probably permanent because it is now too late for steroid treatment to work. NHS ENT doctors should have given me steroids immediately. Instead they treated it as a simple ear infection and failed to provide follow

Confused
I'm sorry if this is a bit long and rambling, but I'm feeling a bit lost and confused and not sure where to turn. I originally posted on here in June when my Osteopath suspected PMR and wrote to my GP asking her to investigate. Eventually, I was given an ESR test which came back 'normal' so no further

Had first MRI now need to see ENT specialist
Hi I’ve had high pitched Tinnitus in my left ear for a few years now and recently after a few bad hearing tests was referred to an ENT specialist, he checked me and said I have to go for an MRI and hearing test. I had the MRI and recently received a letter saying I need to see him in a couple of weeks

Awaiting MRI result
Hi. I wondered how long people had waited before receiving results of an MRI scan? Having developed tinnitus (constant white noise rather than ringing) for about a month, I then got sudden deafness in one ear and was referred to ENT promptly. Had high dose oral steroids and then injected steroid

Ganfort - is it preservative free?
My consultant prescribed Ganfort eye drops because they're supposed to be preservative free and I had been having problems (soreness) with other eye drops. However, I note from the accompanying leaflet that they contain the preservative benzalkonium chloride which is a preservative. Just wondering if

TMJ and Jaw Pain
Is Temporomandibular joint dysfunction an issue with Hypothyroidism does anyone know? I've never knowingly suffered from it but since taking more Levo, I keep getting bouts of terribly sensitive teeth and pain in my jaw. Looks like TMJ from the description but obvs will check with the dentist/doc.

Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (MdDS)
Hello, I have dizzyness, balance problems tinnitus etc which is currently being investigated by various doctors to find the root cause. It looks most like it is MdDs as it seems a classic case, although the disease itself is very rare. It came on after a boat trip and is when you don't recover your

vertigo, dizziness, lightheaded and tinnitus
Hello, around 5 weeks ago I woke up to the room spinning, I did not know why and tried to get on with my day, since then I have felt constantly dizzy, lightheaded, off balance, ear pain and tinnitus. I went to the doctor's and they gave me some exercises which did not really help. So I went back to

Help please
My husband woke up with tinnitus 18 months ago - seen the GP and waiting for ENT referral. He’s tried sound therapy, noise cancelling app and hearing aids. He is finally managing to get some sleep, but it’s quite short and he has chronic headaches. Wakes up with the equivalent of a bad hangover. Any

I was referred from here to an interesting article. The 2nd article I read was a compilation of medication descriptions. It linked to a separate article for each drug. I recently refused to take vyvanse because it is under copyright and there is no generic; I refuse to participate in that system. After

Hearing
I am usually on here for myself but this time it is for my mother. She's in her 80s and been on a dosage of 75 of thyroxine for a long time. She has developed excessive ear wax problem which is severely affecting her hearing. One eardrum has already burst. Could it be thyroid related?

congenital hypothyroidism & hearing loss much later
I was born with hypothyroidism and haven't had too many problems. However I have just had an apparent ear infection (hasn't responded to any AB's) and a hospital doctor suggested it might be caused by my underactive thyroid. The GP rejected the idea because my thyroid has been monitored and my levothyroxine

Ear drops for infection safe to use?
Hi everyone, I am experiencing minor discomfort in my ear, went to see the GP and gave me two options: 1.) Polydexa ears drop 2.) Chloramphenicol. I ran a quick search on Google and apparently both comes with risks. I have bilateral tinnitus and I am really worry about any possible undesired side effects

Strange Hearing Muffle?
For months, possibly a year or two, I have been having weird sensations with my hearing - which I am now convincing myself is hearing loss. Some Info: Male, 20, Smoker for Several Years and practically live with headphones in (on full volume). I am having multiple hearing issues and sensations so
