I've just completed the 3rd day of Week 5 of C25K. I had a bit of soreness in my hips and bum but I decided to run anyway. I felt fine during the 20 minute very slow jog but by the evening, and this morning, my hips were very painful and it's been hard to bend down or even raise myself from the bed or the loo. When I first started C25K I had a bit of stiffness and aching in my calves and elsewhere but that would go away after the rest day. But this is on another level. I am really disappointed as I have been enjoying my first ever attempt at running, brought on by having no alternative during the lock down. Should I stop running? Any advice? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Do you stretch after every run? It is recommended.
Try to follow the advice in the guide on minimising impact.
If it persists, consult a physio.
Enjoy your journey.
Thanks for this. I have talked to a couple of friends and, together with your reply, realize that I need new and better quality running shoes and need to concentrate on stretching after each run. I'll leave it till my hips feel better before I start again. It's a nuisance that I can't get to a shop where I can try on the shoes but I will try to get a pair online and return them if they don't feel right.
This post about running shoes should give you some pointers and includes a link to a wet foot test, which is a good second best when gait analysis is not available healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
