Progress?
it is some months since my last post. since then, my fractured hip has almost completely healed itself without any treatment other than enforced bed rest for three weeks a year ago. the fracture was such that i could bear weight on it, albeit painfully, held together by the sticky soft tissue. strange

Interesting!
I just read a interesting article ( it was based in America) about a man who had suffered with rectal pain and pain radiating to his penis all down one side, and bladder problems, he had decompression surgery, didn't help whatsoever Eventually he saw a spine specialist who did some scans and discovered

Dental Treatment
I was on steroids and Alendronic Acid for PMR but have managed to come off all drugs. On Dec 2 I had an infected and impacted wisdom tooth plus the adjacent infected molar removed under a general in hospital as a day case. It has been very slow to heal. My dentist has xrayed and said all is well, it

Why 1 in 5 cancer clinical trials fizzle

Expectations
So here I sit in my hospital bed, I've just drank my first sachet of Picolax and now I wait..... I've been told my surgery should be in the morning, I'm the only person my consultant will be operating on so hopefully there won't be any delays. Upon admission the nurse said all yesterday's surgeries had

Anyone interested in being a CBT buddy with me?
Dear All I am hoping that this request does not contravene the rules and regulations ..... Like so many of us I feel lonely and isolated due to chronic pain, largely because I feel too ill with the pain and having no motivation to go out and about to actually see people. This is partly due to feeling

Endometriosis and identity
My hope when setting up this page was to pass on the things I've learnt on my endo journey that I wish I'd known sooner. I also want to give an insight into what my life with endometriosis is really like. The raw honest truth not the well edited, photoshopped and economical "truth" that I felt I had

SWALLOWING!
Hi there. I'm new to this site. Have S'S for at least 20 years! Hundreds spent on dental treatment but my biggest problem is swallowing. All my food is liquidised or mashed and really limits my social life and depresses me. Anyone else suffering likewise and any tips? Thanks to all of you

Side effects taking amoxicillin (3g in one dose)
I had a replacement aortic valve 14 years ago and was told to always take 3g of amoxicillin in a glass of water1 hour before dental treatment. This was fine for about 5 years and then I started getting a sore mouth. My mouth has got worse and worse over the years. This year I needed 2 extractions in

Cold Turkey and Reality
I was on both anti-anxiety meds and SSRI's for several years (for anxiety and depression) and if you want to get off of them—I can confirm—you need a SLOW TAPER. The difference between discontinuing "cold turkey" and "tapering off slowly" is a reduction of UNPLEASANT feelings. It's also common sense

For the Record
When we watch athletes competing in the Olympic Games, we rarely see the years of dedicated training they endure. To prepare for this elite sports event, athletes must sometimes push their bodies past ordinary limits to achieve their athletic goals. Jackie Joyner-Kersee is one of these athletes. And

Fibromyalgia now considered as a lifelong central nervous system disorder
