As most men with PCa are oldER and may be on some form of testosterone-blocking treatment, like ADT, odds are they are also struggling with the muscle-wasting and weight issues that comes with both oldER age and loss of T. This article from LEF is a very comprehensive overview of both Cachexia and Sarcopenia

GP disagrees with diagnosis of osteoporosis
I had a Dexa scan 2 weeks ago and the lady who did the scan told me I had osteoporosis and gave me a leaflet about it and an information sheet about Alendronic acid. She said GP would contact me when he got the results to start me on AA. Last week I got a text from GP saying “your bone thickness is

Zolendronic Acid Infusions
I know this treatment is for osteoporosis and not PMR but I’ve been offered this treatment as I’m over 65 and I’m on the cusp of being osteopenic and my bone fracture score is now just above 10.. Recently my rheumy said that the results of my dexascan were some of the best he had seen for someone on

Docosahexaenoic Acid Reverses Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition and Drug Resistance ...
New Chinese cell study [1]. Docosahexaenoic Acid [DHA] is one of the two marine omega-3 fatty acids that people seem to have become bored with. Are supplements good or bad? Why do the softgels have an "off" taste? Is the oil oxidized, rancid, etc."I like to get my DHA from fish. For breakfast I

I’m currently having investigations into Endo-sorry long post but need some advice or any reassurance:)
Hi I’m Sara and I’ve just turned 22, this month, and over the last 3 years I have symptoms (similar to the ones listed for endometriosis) and they have become more severe or more frequent/longer episodes that have been stopping me from working or functioning properly (exercise, sex, going out); it has

Alendronate(Fosamax) total lifetime years
I am a 74 year old woman with osteoporosis. I have taken 1 prolia shot 6 months ago and am scheduled for the second shot Oct. 10. I don't wish to continue on Prolia because I believe it is affecting my immune system. I can't take zoledronic acid because of kidney disease (CKD3a). Alendronate weekly

PPIs?
Just wondering how many are taking a PPI if they are taking Pred and alendronic acid? I have not taken any Omeprazole so far and my stomach has been fine but for the first time last night I had painful, burning reflux and I can still feel the after effects today so am not eating very much. This is

Attempting to transition off PROLIA…
I’m feeling quite overwhelmed with the volumes of great information. I do appreciation as I got none of this from doctors I’m conflicted more than ever on how to get off PROLIA without losing bone strength & avoiding potential side effects of various Busphosphonates: AA, Zoledronic acid, Actonel.

A tooth with a life of it's own!
Hi, all. I wrote in several months ago about a painful tooth. My dentist couldn't find anything wrong with it. He finally referred me to an endodontist, and he did a root canal. Found several issues. Would have been nice if that had been the end of it, but no! The pain would not go away, and I

Supplements to reduce glutamate
I was inspired by Widebody's comments on taurine and glycine to look into supplements that reduce glutamate. I found the following on an autism website that I cannot vouch for, but here is the list: (those of us taking gabapentin, pregabalin, horizont are taking medicine that is reducing brain glutamate

Waiting for a Hysterectomy
Hello everyone, I am writing to ask for any advice/support or similar situations. I am 39, F, live in Scotland UK Have been having problems since May 2021 - heavy menstrual bleeding and pain, hadn't had any issues or bleeding for 20+ years on the mini-Pill Degestrel, so it came as a bit of a shock

Looking for advice, yet again, please.
I had an appointment to see my GP today regarding high blood pressure. I have been taking 10mg Ramipril for some time but recently BP has been high and erratic. Apparently, I cannot go to a higher Ramipril dose, therefore, need to change. I’m aware that some BP medication can interfere with RLS, so

Interesting discussion on supplements from ZOE
Here is a podcast or transcript of it that others may find useful in deciding what to spend their precious pennies on after an expert discusses large, long range studies. For those who have neither the time nor the brain today, it was a thumbs up to a multivitamin, vitamin D (not large doses!), omega

Zymot and PICSI
Hello, I believe this has been asked before but there hasn't been much response so hopefully maybe more might have incite or tips as time as gone by? Do you have experiences using Zymot or PICSI? Or even one thought, using both? Putting the sperm through the Zymot maze and then putting the sperm in
