Changing horses, Enzalutamide to Abiraterone(Zytiga)
My PSA has been on a slow but linear rise for 8 months. Now at 5.2. Most recent PET scan showed further activity in my mediastinum, increase in size of abdominal lymph nodes and a new first lesion in my right lung. The large pleural tumors on my left lung remain stable and there is no fluid. My oncologist

Will be starting Nubeqa as soon as financials figured out!
Well it seems I have become castrate resistant. Psa rose after my December 2020 6 month Eligard shot to 2.18 from 0.78 in 10 weeks. Had a one month Lupron shot and dropped to 1.45 but in mid May was back up to 1.78. So here we go on the next step in this pathway. I had radiation and bracy boost in

Good news, but what next??
I really appreciate referring to the folks on this site! It’s a Godsend. Diagnosed 1.5 years ago with G9, Mets to pelvic bone and bladder neck invasion, nodes clear. PSA at diagnosis was 3.45. Have been on Cabergoline for 10 years due to a pituitary prolactinoma which had my Prolactin levels at 750😳

Update and 2nd opinion
Hello again, I have asked a couple questions at the beginning of this journey and it has been very helpful. I had only went to my Urologist and felt like he was not doing all that could be done. I went to UPMC--U of Pittsburg--Hillman Cancer Center--Harrisburg PA for a second opinion. I am very glad

Why are cardiac effects different for GnRH agonists and antagonists?
I've always been troubled by the observation that GnRH agonists (like Lupron, Gosarelix, Zoladex, and Triptorelin) had a high risk of cardiotoxicity while GnRH antagonists (Firmagon and Orgovyx) did not. Why should they be different if they both lower testosterone? This RCT offers a good explanation.

Off label use of Mekinist (Trametinib)
I came across this in chapter 43 of the Dr Mark Sholz book The Key to Prostate Cancer. It's only anecdotal evidence of course. Anybody considering taking it, should do it with agreement of their MO. Mekinist is a Mek inhibitor and used to treat melanoma, thyroid cancer and non small lung cancer. Patient

I'm going to start Taxotere, what are the experiences that you guys have had with it?
I know not everyone has the same reaction, but I'm going to start Taxotere the first of May. I know these medicines supposed to last for 2 years but when I was first diagnosed I got the testosterone production halted, radiation, and started on some pills. No idea what they were. They only lasted about

Advice on Treating Liver and Lymph Node Mets
Hi Everyone, I was diagnosed with PC that spread to my regional lymph nodes and liver in October, 2019. I have been on Lurpon/Eligard from the beginning with six cycles of chemo from November 2019 to March 2020. My oncologist added Zytiga and prednisone on top of Lupron immediately after I finished chemo

Does Firmagon injection scar tissue go away? How long does it take?
After about 8 months of Firmagon monthly injections in my belly area, I switched 3 months ago to Lupron injections in my “love handles.” I switched to preserve remaining belly sites not made lumpy by Firmagon for my insulin pump ports—insulin injection plus Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM). I insert
