Welcome Back Mr. T
Despite having my prostate removed in July 2019, my testosterone remained at a health 409. In Dec. of 2019 I began a series of 3 month Lupron injections that ended after a year. The entire time I was receiving the injections my testosterone level remained at 6. My first level 3 months after Lupron

ADT Effectiveness
I know everyone is different. However, my understanding was that ADT could be effective for many years. I recently read a post that for metastatic men, it's usually only effective for months. I am deflated. My husband has been on 4 month Lupron since Jan 2021 and Abiraterone 1000mg since March.

Hello there! Would appreciate input..Hello there! Would appreciate input..
I'm brand new to this site. Really happy that I stumbled upon it during a search for, "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome relationship to Lupron." Not a lot of into on the subject so far. I was wondering if any of the folks on this site may have encountered this so-called rare side effect? If so, what was done

Hmm... So in 2/20 my RO says I'm "cured", however, my MO butts in and declares...not so fast Bozo!!
After HDR Brachy and 25 days of IMRT (2019), RO does a brief DRE, looks me in the eye and states " you are not going to die from APC"! GREAT!! No more Lupron and I can taper off Z and P!! Well, MO reminds me that I still meet 2/3 of the Stampede Trial criteria (G9 and PSA>20. My high was 28) and he

Recommendations for urology surgeons?
Hello, Everyone--I have quite severe incontinence 3.5 years after a RP and radiation (but my PSA has been undetectable for over a year; I also had Lupron for 3 years) and need an AUS. MSK has specialist surgeons who are supposed to be very good. But they are also booked months in advance. Does anyone

Lu-177 switch from Xofigo. How long an interval?
Hello friends, I have completed 3 Xofigo shots with the PSA doubling every month ( PSA 47 at present) & increasing bone mets, as per MRI. I would like to switch to Lu-177. The nuclear medicine physician administering the Xofigo said I should wait six months to get the Xofigo out of my system before

Waiting for PSA
It has been two and a half months since my PSA became detectable again after a four year break. (Gland removal in 2014, radiation and Lupron in 2017) PSA was .2 in April, .2 in May and .3 now in June. My MO says let it go above .5 so a scan may better locate the cells. He advises starting ADT now will

My Journey
I'm 74 years old, new to HU and a relative newcomer to the club. This site has provided me with a wealth of information that is invaluable in making treatment decisions . I was diagnosed in October 2019 (PSA 4.3, up from 3.0 the previous year), MRI and biopsy confirming the diagnosis. RP in December

ADT vs physical castration pros and cons
I understand that unlike a physical castration which cannot be undone , adt can be stopped. But if someone has to be on ADT for life or chooses to be on it for life for fear of a recurrence of the cancer coming back or growing if it never enters remission, does a physical castration offer benefits?

Joint and leg pain!!!
Husband is suffering from knee and leg pain. Also swollen feet and ankles. The oncologist does not want to treat the pain and I’m wondering if it’s because most joint aches aren’t from cancer? But my theory is that the joint pain could be due to the chemo, lupron, Zytiga, etc! So isn’t that really cancer

Depo-Provera Pros & Cons
My MO is suggesting Depo-Provera in response to my complaints about Lupron SEs. I'm a bit reluctant to take yet another 3-month shot, that can't be undone if I don't do well with its SEs . If you've tried it, what are your experiences?

Finally joining in...
I'm not new here, but I have only been a spectator for a few years. I'm 71, diagnosed with prostate cancer 20 years ago. After radical prostatectomy, clinical trial of chemo, and external beam radiation, the psa slowly rose until about 4 years ago, when I began Lupron injections. The psa went down

Brief, intense radiation and hormone therapy for very high risk prostate cancer
Another trial suggests that SBRT may be as good as brachy boost therapy for very high risk patients. They added a short course of Erleada and Zytiga to just 6 months of Lupron. I think they erred in not treating the pelvic lymph nodes. https://www.prostatecancer.news/2021/06/brief-intense-radiation-and-hormone.html

How often are scans done
Going next week for my 6 month scan since last December when the psa was 15.5, since doing arbitrone with prednisone and xgeva and lupron, the psa is now at .7. If the psa drops why would they do a CT scan when the last one showed no disease progression. The last bone scan showed some activity on the

One Step Up Two Steps Back - "Bruce Springsteen"
I'm 73 with Stage . Robotic, Lupron and Radiation on the checked list. I'm trying to stay "fit" but my former pleasant leisurely two mile stroll now feels like a 27 mile marathon where I hit the wall two minutes after leaving the house. My energy level non existent as my testosterone. The back pain
