Sense to knocking...

DepoProvera for Lupron SEs--many questions
On my MO's recommendation, I've started DepoProvera [DP] injections to combat serious sleep deprivation and other side-effects of Lupron/Zytiga. So far, I've had 3 shots, roughly a month apart. It really helps! But I'm concerned about using this drug, and my MO is basically ignoring my questions about

Has anyone used Dr. Gary Onik (Dr. Hope)? Want opinions.
Hi everyone... as most of you know...I still look(and mostly feel) pretty great. BUT my PSA is just under 1000 and my last scans showed cancer in 97 % of my bones. So the picture is not pretty. (kinda reminds me of "The Picture of Dorian Gray". Everyone keeps telling how good I look and how I don't

I am sorry if this is repetitive. I am having trouble navigating this site. This is my brothers history. Hoping this can be a recent bounce in psa that will be lower next time. Diagnosed in June 2017 at 55 Brca1 family psa 4.56 2 or 4 out of 12 cores positive Gleason 4 + 3 by urologist Surgeon

Looking for anyone else with the RAD51B mutation with mets to liver.
New here but not new to Prostate cancer. I'm writing for my dad that was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in October 2010 via digital exam when PSA was only 2.8. Had robotic surgery Feb. 2011 - post Gleason Score 7 (4+3) minor component pattern 5, margins clean and no Seminal Vesicle involvement

Slight PSA Rise
Well, here we go again. On Xtandi and Lupron and Zometa. Feb PSA at .31 May PSA at .29 Aug PSA at .21 Sep PSA at .27 Next test in Nov. Hopefully just noise or random fluctuation. Nov will give more of an idea. At least we know what to watch for. And have some plans ready to consider.

Good News at 11 mos since Dx.
Like to pass along good news when I can. After 11 months on Firmagon, now Lupron, and Xtandi, now Zytiga/prednisone. My PSA is finally below 1 at .67 !! T @ 0.0%. The first 3 mos inject of Lupron was June 10th. My body does better on Lupron vs Firmagon (although weight gain is new), and better on Zytiga

Dead or Alive
Have been taking Xtandi and Lupron for nearly four years following chemotherapy. Medications have effects. Some are desirable, some are undesirable. My PSA is down from a high of 59.9 to around an average of about 5. I am still alive. The 6-month dose of Lupron kicks my butt for several weeks after the

Has Anyone taken Xtandi as a last resort treatment for MCRPC and what were results?
My husband has run the gamut on Prostate Cancer Treatments- Surgery, Radiation, Lupron, Clinical Trial (Panther), Provenge, chemo, and Lutetium 177 treatment in Germany for 4 cycles. The Lutetium worked with bringing PSA down from 1350 to single digits for about 9 months - now it is on the rise again

Decision: Lupron/Xtandi vs Natural
I'm a 73 male divorced/no kids just diagnosed w/stage 4 PC. Has spread to Lymph Nodes in Groin, but not to bones per scan. PSA 349, Gleason 3+3. Onc prescribes Lupron and Xtandi. (Surgery or radiation were not suggested.) Lupron side effects scare me, & it seems once you're on the chem train, you

jevtana added to lupron and xtandi, too much?
My MO wants me to add jevtana to the meds I already take --- seems to be to much for my body to handle. Any thoughts on this? Thanks...

It’s back… recurrent PSA after primary and adjuvant treatment
Hi all - So it’s been a month since my last post-therapy PSA test went off with a 0.15 where it had been undetectable at < 0.05 for the last year. Yesterday was my second test, a month later, and the results were 0.29. Checking now with my Stanford oncologists on next steps and welcome any input

Personal Experience with Nubequa
I reached the point 4 months ago where Lupron Depot monthly no longer worked. PSA rose to 1.78. This was after Eligard failed at psa of 2.18 three months before. Now I still get the Lupron Depot monthly but take Nubeqa 600mg twice a day and my recent psa was 0.06. No new side effects. Energy level crap

In Need of a Trainer
I live in a suburb of Seattle, WA. (Redmond) It is clear my husband needs more exercise as his treatment of Lupron, Zytiga, Prednisone are causing bone loss (30% loss since November 2020). Internist has recommended Fosamax, but the side affects are daunting. Would like to see if exercise will help

How do administration of Eligard, Lupron, and Firmagon differ? How are the shots given?
How is administration of Eligard performed? Is it different than Lupron? Is it different than Firmagon? My husband is getting his first 3 month injection of Eligard and he is wondering what to expect. He was previously getting monthly Firmagon shots and for the last four months he's been taking Orgovyx

Slow recovery from general anesthesia…PC/ADT related?
I’m home recovering from bladder stone surgery…it’s been three days now and I’m just not bouncing back. Fatigued, dizziness and a bit nauseous. I didn’t have this in my previous prostate cancer, kidney stone or spinal surgeries. Has anyone else experienced this? I do worry a bit about the cumulative
