I have been on Lupron for 2 years. Lately (last two months) my PSA has started rising. My MO has taken me off Lupron and I will start Apalutamide as soon as insurance approves. Would be interested in info on Apalumatide, side effects, negative responses ect.

Info on Apalumatide
Very unusual to discontinue Lupron. Standard-of-care is to continue Lupron and add Erleada. Is that part of a clinical trial you are on?
Not in any clinical trial TA
Let us know how you do with Erleada as a monotherapy. I've only seen one clinical trial of Erleada as a monotherapy, and it didn't do well:

Expect some pretty severe gynecomastia, unless you take tamoxifen with it.
Why the "break" from Lupron? I am not a fan of intermittent ADT. They give the cancer a chance to produce new cell lines that are resistant to the drug. Why Apalumatide? Why not start with Zytiza or xtandi?
Started Erleada/Eligard at the same time 2 years ago. Last ultra sensitive PSA was 0.014 and Testosterone was <4. Hot flushes, a little fatigue and ED are my side effects. I try to stay active and keep myself moving. Last bone/ CT scan did not show the 3 Mets that where there when I started treatment. QOL not so bad. Not sure I would drop the Eligard/Lupron if given the opportunity for mono treatment. Jut my opinion.
I was a big fan of Erleada/Apalutamide + Eligard but the combo crapped out on me just recently after less than two years. I was hoping for more time based on the Titan trial results. I'm seeing my oncologist tomorrow to set up the next game plan.
