Pain relief when you have cirrhosis?
yesterday and was hoping that he would replace one or both of my knees - but he said he’s not going to do it just yet because I’m ‘only young’, and he thinks I will still be in in almost as much pain afterwards because of the problems with my back 🤦♀️ It’s getting to the point where I’m tempted to take

Latent arthritis or PMR
With short experiments, I can eliminate it temporarily either by increasing Pred for a few days or taking some
NSAIDs
(plus PPI of course). Given my own experiences, I think it is some kind of latent arthritis masked by Pred rather than PMR. What do you all think?

NSAIDS anyone ?
Does anyone else take long term
NSAIDS
with their rheumatologist’s approval and if so what ? Is there an approved long term one or is this not fashionable now ? I will be seeing my rheumatologist at the end of the month and will discuss this with him .

Inflammation Control
Has anyone any ideas on how to settle inflammation in your body if you cannot take the usual tablets like Ibuprofen,
Nsaids
etc ? I know things like ginger & garlic help the chest but not sure about other internal inflammation. Any Suggestions would be much appreciated

Confused
I was aware that about 20% PMR sufferers have normal results, and as I have been taking
NSAIDs
for many, many years I would expect it to be suppressed.

Newbie here, tests/symptoms suggest PA or AAG
I took
NSAIDs
regularly. And only now, in 2022, did a doctor refer me for an MRI. The left wrist only.

pain killers for severe sciatica
I vaguely recall my dentist telling me I shouldn’t take
NSAIDs
if I have PA. Is this right? Thanks 😊

PD link allergic rhinitis like “hay-fever” and histamine
Allergic forms of rhinitis also appear to be PD-sensitive or possibly even the causative agent of PD for many. On mg search I came across a 2006 study by Dr. James Bower (Mayo Clinic) that at the time already demonstrated the relationship between allergic rhinitis (histamine) and PD. https://www.sciencedaily.com

oral NSAIDs vs topical NSAIDs
I always wondered if topical
NSAIDs
were gentler on the body than oral
NSAIDs
. This is an interesting article: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/life/advice/2020/10/28/keith-roach-topical-

Numbers aren't everything in the land of CKD
So I won't take
NSAIDS
anymore, but I have no other restrictions. I am "remarkably healthy" compared to patients he usually sees. He will monitor me once a year, as will my primary care doctor.

subacute thyroiditis and pregnant
The first endocrinologist that saw me said that normally they would start with
NSAIDs
but as I am pregnant they’ll try first with paracetamol and if needed move to steroids. My CRP value was 88 and I had pain on my neck, jaws and ears as well as the high temperature and fast heart rate.

NSAID alternatives
and if so with being Asthmatic I`m not supposed to take
NSAIDS
, so are there any known alternatives about?. Strangely enough, I was given Naproxen years ago after an operation on my knee and this worked fine ( little knowing it was an NSAID but my Dr prescribed), with no problem Asthma wise.

Active Surveillance Still a Good Option?
I might add that this PSA was done at the VA hospital lab, and I had been on painkillers,
NSAIDS
, supplements and had 2 pints transfused during my hospital stay. It seems the results at Quest lab are usually lower than results from the VA lab.

Change of medication
I’ve been offered no other pain relief although I have problems taking
NSAIDs
so that’s not an option but I can’t bear the thought of weeks of this, I was crying getting dressed this morning and that’s not me. Just wondered whether anyone had been through anything similar and how you coped.

I had the worst pain of my life last night. I couldn’t get out of bed for 1.5 hrs!
That she didn’t think it was my kidney & to take my
NSAIDs
regularly & see my gp today. I’m so annoyed she put me off a&e. I had one of the worst nights of my life. DEEP DEEP SHARP SPASMS in the right side of my back. They felt like i was wired up to the mains. Electric shocks everytime i moved.

I’ve lost my faith in the NHS altogether.
If one looks at the NHS website, GORD specifically states “some medicines can cause GORD or make the symptoms worse, including calcium-channel blockers (used to treat high blood pressure), nitrates (used to treat angina) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (
NSAIDs
)”.
