Has anyone any ideas on how to settle inflammation in your body if you cannot take the usual tablets like Ibuprofen,Nsaids etc ? I know things like ginger & garlic help the chest but not sure about other internal inflammation. Any Suggestions would be much appreciated

I took a Turmeric supplement when I was at my worst but not sure how effective it was to be honest because I took conventional along side it 🤔

Same here, I did not have much success with Turmeric although it was the dearer one with other additive.

Turmeric can be good, but research it very carefully. It uses the same pathway to netabolise 50% of regular meds, it uses the protein cyp450 in metabolising. It can inhibit or enhance the effect of other meds, meaning you can get toxic levels of your meds if it enhances, or not reaching therapeutic levels if it inhibits.

I was advised I could take it with clopidogrel despite not being able to take with warfarin. I ended up after a week of taking it, being literally covered in bruises as it had enhanced the effect of the clopidogrel. A lesson well learned, to do my own research, and that OTC meds can still interact with regular meds and are not necessarily safe.

Hi.

I can’t take nsaids anymore after having a heart attack, I used to take naproxen. I’ve asked my RA specialist about what to take instead, and all I got was a shrug of his shoulders! My GP advised paracetamol, and I had already used ‘Zapain’, ( 500 / 30 mg codeine phosphate paracetamol) and started on this.

Zapain works for me, but has its own problems ( constipation), so I’m still waiting on an alternative solution.

That's similar to my experience, I went to a pain clinic and their advice was do what your GP says so back to Paracetamol. Once I take a few I start to get stomach upset, so I find a small dose of Tramadol helps but that's the same large doses are addictive and have varied unwanted side effects. I'm not sure what inflammation the hospital is referring to lungs or joints. But I seem to have generalised inflammation. Naproxen ect is out due to causing problems and it's the same with the BP , I became dehydrated, lung condition worsened ect I feel a bit deflated trying to solve it but so does the GP. I also wonder what is causing all this inflammation I guess my own immune reactions.

Codeine (in the Zapain) is certainly constipating, but I find that eating prunes and/or dried dates balances that out. I can alter the amount to match the number of Zapain I take each day!

I take OTC Arthritis Strength Tylenol, Tylenol PM, and Low Dose Naltexzone (LDN). Started the Paddison Program (start with his TED talk) and can not deny the relationship between leaky gut and inflammation. I was finally able to take my Prednisone down from 10 to 5 mg and hope to be off completely in the next 3 months. Don't just research leaky gut - there is more to it than that for RA and leaky gut. There is just not just one thing that makes a difference. Together they may ALL the difference. Everything in the program is doable. I can't encourage you and anyone else enough to use this program, take control of your body, and stop the damaging inflammation. Message me direct if you are curious.
