Hi all. I can't believe I hit the one month mark here on Saturday. Who would have ever thought I would have done it? I certainty didn't. How do you change a habit of twelve years? A lot easier than I thought. Once I got past the initial couple of weeks the rest seemed to fall Into place. I still have

Been to see COPD nurse for first time.
Well I got good news, if you can say that. I'm only 1st stage, caught it early. Had my pneumonia injection. Been referred for PR, which I wanted. Had a heavy, physical day today, sorting out clothes bank that I run in the local community. Picked up my nicotine patches. Going to chill now. Hope I find

Week5/Run3 - 20 mins
I don't know why but I'm feeling rather deflated after having completed this run. I thought I'd be over the moon like I was when I did the 8 mins run (twice). It maybe due to lack of sleep and stopping the nicotine patches today. Looking forward to a day off and starting Week 6 on Sunday. Hope everybody

Nicotine & benefits in gastrointestinal tract
Hi all, I was first diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2007 & this was later changed to a diagnosis of Crohn's in more recent times. I am also now going through the process of diagnosis of what is believed to be GPA\Wegeners. I also have 2 discs that are degenerating so we have 3 chronic diseases

COPD Going Backwards ?
I was diagnosed with COPD around 2012. The diagnosis was moderate, but I think that perhaps it was at the bad end of moderate. I had at least one flare up due to a chest infection which saw me hospitalized for a short period. I was in a right state before going into Hospital. The infection saw me waking

Smoking and thyroid - Thyroid and smoking.
Smoking and thyroid. Thyroid and smoking. The inter-relation between smoking, very likely largely due to nicotine, and thyroid has been discussed here and elsewhere many times. The place it does NOT get mentioned is anywhere concerned with giving up smoking. You can get nicotine patches, anti-depressents

HINTS AND TIPS FOR QUITTING
Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things you will ever do. Physical and psychological temptation will make you cranky. You may backslide on occasion and succumb to temptation. Set up a reward system for yourself, and try to be strong. You can do it. Physical Effects of Quitting Smoking •Expect

NON SMOKING TREATMENTS
They're not the same as the
inhalator
, which is a type of
nicotine
replacement therapy that is available on the NHS. Electronic cigarettes also aren’t currently regulated as medicines so you can’t be sure of their ingredients or how much nicotine they contain – whatever it says on the label.

Nicotine patch
I saw a message that mentioned nicotine patches for pd. A French doctor had said it would help. I have lost the message. Could anyone out there tell me where it is. Thanks
