There are 5 Repurposed drugs currently being trialed and 2 (Israpidine and Inosine) are in Phase III. Those involved in a trial, or involved outside of a trial, can offer valuable feedback-
Israpidine, used to control high blood pressure with a calcium channel blocker, can cross the blood brain barrier. Currently about 400 PD patients are engaged in Phase III trial of Israpidine after a record breaking enrollment but we won't see official outcome reports for a couple of years. If you need a high blood pressure medication and have PD, Israpidine might be available to you. Inosine is still recruiting for Phase III for those whose urate levels are not too high to participate.
Nicotine patches and Exenatide (AstraZeneca spearheads at University College London) completing Phase II - waiting on results.
Nilotinib is just starting Phase II for those with moderate PD, spearheaded out of Georgetown University Medical. Some are taking this "off label".
