Is calf trouble 'to be expected' with PMR/Pred?
I see in the archives that others have discussed this circulation issue. With the onset of PMR I didn't have calf problems, unless they were overshadowed by shoulders and hips so I didn't notice! I've wondered if the discomfort might eventually just go again if I ignore it (have walked through it and

Ankle issue
Hey gang, I've got an odd problem and I am trying to sort out if it is BD related or not. My BD is currently under control. I don't have any noticeable symptoms as far as i am aware of. My biggest issue with this condition was ulcers (which I haven't had in 2 years) and erythema nodosum in the ankles

Antidepressants
So I saw a psychiatrist yesterday. I was in no great need, but I've been having a lot of work-related problems lately. I always cover myself with a doctor's note. Anyway, I fancied talking to someone about my disease. I don't burden my friends with my problems, and all they say is "You'll be OK

Thank you all for encouraging me and helping me get thru this procedure. I was a bit nervous at first, my boyfriend had to tell me not to hide under the warm blankets they gave me (I didn't like pain from four attempts to find a good vein). I'm back at home with just my nose burning so it went much

Blood Results
I have read that the CR results are more reliable indicators of PMR I have accessed my medical record and am busy digesting the contents spurred on by the fact that test results mostly do not reach my rheumatologist for a number of reasons too silly to take up space here. At the request of my rheumatologist

Hi I have diabetes and currently have diabetic neuropathy. I am taking one pill each of Neurobion and Mecomin (500 mcg), each two times a day, but it it does not seem to be effective in giving a permanent stop to the pain and tingling effects at the base of my feet. What do you think I should do? Thanks

Limit fucking for 6 months of anyone who's had I-125 seeds
I'm amazed that anyone as prestigious as Memorial Sloan Kettering investigated this. They used an ultrasound probe up the butt of 20 men implanted with I-125 seeds, and 82 men implanted with Pd-103 seeds at the day of implantation and also 60 days later. The dose received by the probe (i.e., the top's

Wobbly legs and hands - is it the pred?
I am taking 15mg pred for PMR and have been for 6 weeks. Although the pain has eased of PMR my legs and hands are terrible and feel very wobbly. I am wondering if it could be a side effect of the pred as it seems to be getting worse and I have a terrible fear of falling over and have to have someone

Leflunomide DMARD drug
Quick question. Been to my lovely rheumy today. She has suggested I try Leflunomide (DMARD). I would be interested to hear your comments about any experiences you have had with this treatment. Sadly, I don't respond very well to many drugs and have tried both MTX injections and Hydroxychloroquine, but

Drugs left in the car (high heat)
Hello, It was hot today and I left the 4 days doses of my truvada, norvir and prezista in the car (globe compartment). The car was under the sun for about an hour maybe a bit more. When I entered the car it was very hot. Do you think this would influence their potency? I read that Norvir is ok with high

By exertion I mean walking normally. I have an irregular heartbeat which is persistent. I take Digoxin125mcg which keeps my heat rate at an average of 75bpm, but I get very breathless when trying to do things or walking that needs moderate effort. Would oxygen therapy work for me at all? I haven`
