update on leg pain with rheumatology nurse
thought I’d update you all. Rheumatology nurse called, and says if prednisolone is helping the pains, it’s not AS. I challenged her saying if AS is flaring it’s due to inflammation, and prednisolone is prescribed specifically to reduce inflammation, and would be expected to improve symptoms. To which

Neutrophils Crash
I have been on 25mg Mtx with 5mg Prednisolone and folic acid daily - largely successfully for a couple of years. 10mg Leflunomide was added and since then I’ve had several issues. Most recently over a couple of months my WBC and neutrophils has crashed (0.8 for latter) resulting in bad mouth ulcers

Does higher elevations enhance PMR symptoms?
Every time I visit my son in Colorado at a 5-6k feet elevation I seem to have difficulty after a couple days. On prednisone (5mg) I feel 5/10 lower extremity discomfort. Without predinisone I would rated it around 8/10. Always in the lower extremities.

severe leg pain with leg buckling
I recently had a lovely holiday in Devon, where I probably pushed myself too much, and ended up with my ankylosing spondylitis flaring. 12 days ago, I started getting moderate pain n my thigh and knee, and the thigh would suddenly feel like jelly and buckle under me. This resulted in me falling in the

CLL AND RA
About five years ago I was diagnosed with CLL, a high WBC but it is steady, I am getting no treatment, just monitoring for now. This month I was diagnosed with severe RA ,with a sudden onset four months ago. Treatment so far is Enbrel and prednisone. I'm working on tapering off the prednisone, and now

Hi all after 4 years relatively free of PMR it’s back with a vengeance, the only difference now is I’m taking blood pressure medication as it’s increased in the last couple of years together with pre diabetes. My question is , is it safe to take prednisone with these changes in my health conditions

Fatigue
Since being diagnosed with an inflammatory disorder three years ago I have suffered with various symptoms most of which are now well controlled and stable. The severe pain in my joints and other parts of my body and the excruciatingly painful headaches thankfully seem to be kept at bay by medication

I was diagnosed with PMR in July 2019. Started on 20 mg prednisone and began the long tapering. One flare went up to 5 mg and then tapered all the way down to 2 5mg. Last week became concerned with symptoms that could be GCA. Jaw pain, dry cough, fatigue, tenderness in the back of neck, no headache but

I am reducing .5 a mg per month., as have had two flare in the last 2 years. Should I take an extra dose

overheating and PMR
I have had polymyalgia for 18 months, and at the beginning, there was a thought that I was developing GCA. However, the rheumy discounted this and after starting on steroids at 60 mg I quickly reduced to 10. I stayed on this for sometime because of stressful family issues. However, over the last six

moving pain
I am on my 3rd day of prednisolone, 20 mg after being diagnosed with pmr. Although I am experiencing less pain and stiffness than before the pain seems to vary where to attack. Yesterday it was only my shoulders and upper arms and today it’s only my left hip and thigh. Is this a thing??

accidently took only one 1mg pill prednisone yesterday am, felt good all day
This am made sure I took 3mg. I am thinking of trying to alternate at 2 and 3 mg daily now in a few days. I am a tiny bit stiffer feeling this am than usual. I have also mostly stopped the Ibuprofen and substituting 3 aspirins. Think since it thins the blood might help with hand circulation.

Is this PMR?
Hello I'm new to this site and to the world of PMR. Hoping to get some guidance from this lovely community. My GP has diagnosed me with PMR at 42 and I'm not entirely convinced as I don't fit the symptoms of aches and stiffness in the shoulders and hips. This all started in March 23 where I woke

Unusual Sleep Cycle and Pred Timing
Hi, and thank you in advance for any advice, and sorry this is so long. I have read that prednisone is best taken with breakfast in the morning - something to do with the body's natural cortisol cycle (?). My question is, does anyone know how that would be affected by someone with a different sleep
