eosinophils, cough, alopecia
My health issue started first with alopecia back April 2021 when I noticed my mustache having a patch spot. Than slowly it spread all over mustache and beard towards Sept 2022. During that same time, I noticed hair start falling in clusters. Did not fall entirely but called diffuse alopecia. However

After 2 yes and a taper to half a mg daily, now have infections and started a full flare up
Advice please, don't know what dose to take? Posted a couple of weeks ago, as I had tapered slowly over two years and was on last half a mg Prednisolone daily, when hands and wrists became enflamed. Tried increase to 5mg daily for a week, returned to 1mg . Then got tummy bug, followed by Diverticulitis

Finally, we may have found the smoking gun.
We had been able to put it aside, and the hospital agreed they had made a mistake when they said Margaret had Cirrhosis. And was, in fact, NASH with Grade 1 fibrosis. Still, NASH was a surprise, as Magaret was a nondrinker, not obese, and had no health conditions that would even be considered for

Diagnosed under 55
I’m looking specifically for men and partners of men who were diagnosed with de novo stage four prostate cancer at their initial diagnosis. The treatments are different and unfortunately so it the overall outlook. The younger men are diagnosed with PCa, the more aggressive the cancer tends to be.

running out of Zytiga….
due to pre Auth issues I am going to run out of Zytiga …..I’m guessing I’ll be without it for at least a few days possibly a week…..haven’t heard back from MO about how to make the best use of what I have left and whether I should continue to take the prednisone. I have 4 days left at this point…..

PMR & GCA: A Survival Guide
Book arrived yesterday afternoon - thank you to all who referenced it in your posts to me - it's read and about to be re-read! It's the first engaging piece of literature that I've been able to concentrate on for months! (for some reason I can't access the website www.polywotsit.com - does it still exist

Info about docetaxel
I have been at Stage 4 for 7 1/2 years. and a succession of Xtandi, Nubequa, and Zytega along with Lupron has kept my PSA under two although each has eventually failed (PSA quickly rising above 1.0). My recent blood draw resulted in a jump from 0.78 to 1.29 while I was on the Aberaterone/prednisone protocol

how quickly did you feel relief by taking prednisolone?
posted before about potential PMR. Painful bilateral shoulders, upper and lower back pain, neck pain, sacroiliac, thigh pain etc. raised. Inflammation markers so prescribed 15mg prednisolone with repeat bloods after 2 weeks. Just wondering if this is PMR, how soon can I possibly find some relief?

titrating down Prednisolone
Titrating down your prednisolone becomes more problematic the lower the dose you are on so the reaction can be more profound, e.g if you are on 4mg for example & you reduce 1mg that is actually 25%. I titrate down 1mg every 6 weeks & have found I am having ‘withdrawal symptoms more than before so have

Frequent Eye Prescription Changes and Cataract Surgery
Hi all, I am a GCA patient since AUG 22. I started on 60 MG Prednisone and have tapered to 5.5 mg since then using DSNS. I have had vision problems almost from the start -- blurry vision mostly, but now I have significant cataracts -- AND I've had to change my prescription 4 times since AUG 22. My

All in my mind, apparently!!!
I’d be most interested in opinions on this. Had a telephone conversation with my Rheumy a few weeks ago, which was 9 months since the last one – in a year when I had experienced considerable stress in Health, Work and Bereavement. I explained that I had tried to reduce the 20mg Methotrexate dose to

1.5 mgs now blood tests all over the place
So I am into my third year with pmr. I have been at 1.5 mg prednisone for 2 weeks and had my quarterly bloodwork done. Ana is now positive. It was negative last quarter. I am positive for Sjogrens but I don't have any symptoms. Is this because of my lower dosage? I am a little stiff and slow , but

Quick question about blood tests
Diagnosed in early November; struggling with flares so I am presently alternating between 17 and 16mg prednisone. Blood tests this week (Sed rate and C-reactive) came back normal. Is that odd? I have a first appointment with rheumatologist on Monday next week. Thanks for advice.

Pain in Right Hand
Having had lots of replies and helpful advice re my Adrenals questions, it has been pointed out to me that I am more likely to get advice on this hand problem if I make it a seperate post. The problem is a pain in my right hand that is with me most of the time, day and night, and Prednisolone does

Query Re First Few Days: Prednisolone :Edited
Firstly, a huge thank you for everyone's support/responses to my introductory post - I am bowled over, obviously feeling a little sensitive because I spent most of the time catching up on your replies with a snotty nose and tears running down my face - the overwhelming relief that there is recognition
