Shoulder
I have had GCA and still got Polymyalgia. 10mg Prednisolone. I feel fine but the really depressing thing is loss of movement in my arms. Pain in right shoulder never stops and lack of movement is very depressing. Can anyone offer hope or solutions??

dizziness of visual origin
I have GCA but, so far, no eye problems. 3 weeks ago I had a cataract operation. Ever since I have been having visual disturbances (things seem to shimmer) that upset my balance. They are helped by wearing polaroid sunglasses, but indoors that often makes things so dark that I can't see what I am

reducing prednisolone
the consultant has said to reduce Prednisolone by 1mg per month. Am currently just finishing 8mg but am a bit nervous about going to 7mg . Would it be ok to do 7 and a half for a few weeks then do same for 7? I had a few random head pings early on the 8mg dose . Have GCA.

Just Diagnosed with PMR and Confused
Recently diagnosed with PMR and put on 15mg of prednisolone for week to confirm. Certainly the excruciating pains in shoulders, upper arms, thighs, hips and calfs subsided considerably in first few days . Now on it for a month before review. I understand that the PMR is there and steroids just help with

Pmr and pain - where do you get pain?
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with pmr after covid. I'm wondering if it is pmr or if it's 'just' long covid (which in itself is pretty awful) so ... If you have pmr and if you have pmr and long covid/M.E would you mind sharing where it hurts you and any tips on how to balance exercise and rest

Update.
Spoke with Dr Sidra my haematologist yesterday. My red cells are still being destroyed more rapidly than they are replenishing. He has reduced my Imber from 329mg daily to 280 mg. I am now reducing my Prednisolone dosage on a taper every 2 weeks. Still having issues with feeling very hot and quite fatigued

To split dose or not to split
I was diagnosed with PMR in June this year and put on 15mg Prednisolone. Last week this was reduced to 12.5. On both doses, I was experiencing pain by the evening and this week decided to take the little 2.5 tablet at mid-day to try and prolong the pain-free period until bed-time. I now wonder whether

Anyone on Azathioprine for PMR
Recently my consultant has suggested that I reduce my steroids and start on this drug at the same time. I am currently on 6mgs of Prednisolone and my pain, which is mostly in my hands and wrists is manageable. For 5years I did not have to take anything at all and I really would rather just taper off

CRP levels raised
I was diagnosed with PMR in April 23 , starting on 15 mg Prednisolone reducing to 8mg. Then started with terrible headaches in the morning on waking & a watery right eye . Bumped up to 20mg immediately which stopped the headaches . Now reduced down 1/2 mg every 2 weeks or so as I feel able , now down

prednisolone
hi I am currently taking 10 mg per day due soon to taper to 9mg. For some reason I have run out of 5mg and only have supplies of 1mg. I have a prescription on order for 5mg but can take a day or so. Does anyone know if there is a down side/side effect if for a couple of days I take 10 x 1mg? Thanks

The steroid with zytiga can be a deal
My Dads new oncologist switched his steroid from prednisolone to dexamethasone - she was distressed at first appointment to see he was on zytiga and prednisolone. She said research pretty clear that dexamethasone is better. On today's PSA results she is clearly correct. We thought that he had become

DXA scan results
After having Polymyalgia for over 11 years and happy to stay around on 5mg Prednisolone a day. My Doctor concerned, asked for a DXA scan. I was told your results would be sent this afternoon, that's two weeks ago, giving them time to advise me, on asking when I might hear I'm told not for a couple of

Methylprednisolone and prednisolone
I know you cannot take methylprednisolone and prednisolone simultaneously but can one transfer from methylprednisolone to prednisolone without any adverse effects , bearing in mind that 4mg methylprednisolone is stronger so is equal to 5mg prednisolone .? 🤔

On 45mg Prednisolone. Doc just told me to miss a day.
I'm so frightened. I have got totally confused. Confusion started when I got diagnosed with GCA and put on Prednisolone 50 mg, along with Apixaban, Lanzoprazole, coleocalciferol, something that's vit D complex plus calcium (forgotton the name), simavastin and Bisoprolol. Then I had afall, got taken
