Hi not sure if anyone is aware but I applied online and received a kit for Thyroid blood tests, on reading instructions before use it stated do not use if taking corticosteroids/prednisolone so had to return and received a refund, this was not mentioned anywhere on the website (I have been back on to check) when I ordered.

I am sure if you draw it to their attention and suggest they change the website they would, as it is a lot cheaper for them than having to pay back people. I very occasionally have had private blood tests at home and I have been very impressed with the service.

I have drawn it to their attention so hopefully it will be added to their website. They were very helpful and quick to refund.

That is really good to know. I used a company called Medichecks.

Did they say why? I have been on thyroid meds for over 40 years and pred for nearly 4. Never been asked that question when I have regular thyroid monitoring in a hospital.

No they didn't, maybe it's because Serum Cortisol is included amongst others, I dont think Cortisol is included in regular thyroid monitoring but there again I could be wrong 🙂. Like yourself Sophiestree I have been on Thyroid medication for many years.

Probably that - but would make more sense to say that serum cortisol is not reliable if you are on corticosteroids. That's throwing the baby out with the bathwater!!
