Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with pmr August 2019,started on 60 mgs Prednisolone.I have tapered down to 5mgs and was absolutely fine.Saw my consultant last September and he suggested to taper down 1 mg a month and hopefully I will be of predinisolone when I see him next month( he says pmr only lasts a couple of years).I took it slowly and was down to 3mgs beginning of February, on the 4th I couldn't get out of bed because of pain and stiffness in neck, shoulders, upper arms and hip thigh area.I had bloods done on the 12th and the Secretary said they are ok, I cannot drive,I don't go out and cannot even comb my hair as the symptoms don't leave me until about 3pm .Any advice,I go to see him on the 12th March

Hi, with my PMR my first dose was 15mg. I have had a few flares so the dose has been yoyo-ing for a couple months I am now about to come off completely. your 60mg seems extremely high! just a word of warning though be very careful when reducing, I developed secondary adrenal insufficiency and was hospitalized as a result. All better now but just be careful x

I was started on 70mg! Side effects were awful. Tapering now thank goodness but I also got steroid induced hyperglycaemia which has been a real challenge 😥
