Uniphyllin side effects
Hi, I’ve just been taking Uniphyllin Continus for a week -200mg am and pm. It seems to have finally stabilised my peak flow but the side effects are a real pain. About an hour after I take it (excuse the details) I get diarrhoea for 2 or 3 hours! I’ve tried taking it on an empty stomach, taking it after

Dry Mouth Remedies?
I am on oxygen 24/7, sleep with a CPAP machine and take prednisone for advanced PF and 'usual' medications for a heart condition. I'm becoming increasingly bothered by a dry mouth, especially on waking even though I am not a mouth breather. Are there any effective remedies out there? Must be sugar

So 5 years ago before any heart trouble i was a judo coach and badly dislocated my left shoulder requiring surgery. I had a procedure called acromioclavicular joint stabilisation with lockdown. Hi. My first post here. I have had really bad insomnia for the past year, in conjunction with a depressive episode. I have no problem falling asleep. My problem is staying asleep. I use a cpap machine for sleep apnea and I have been on trazadone for a long time to try to resolve this. But it persists

Obstructive sleep apnea and Parkinson's
Curious to know how many people here with pd also have obstructive sleep apnea. I do, and I just went on cpap therapy recently. Noticing a slight improvement in most symptoms and hoping that with continued diligence I can improve more. Here's a link to a very basic article on the relationship between

Doctors use existing treatment earlier to save the lives of Covid-19 patients.
The lives of patients hospitalised with Covid-19 are being saved by doctors who are using an existing medical treatment at an earlier stage. Dr Luigi Sedda of Lancaster University analysed the results from the team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (WWL). Their research

Study explores sleep apnea, autoimmune disease link.
New research by University of Georgia scientists sheds light on why people with obstructive sleep apnea may have associated autoimmune disorders. Obstructive sleep apnea is a disorder that occurs when throat muscles relax temporarily, narrowing or collapsing the airway and momentarily cutting off breathing

Hanging in there!
Thanks for your advice - however it would not be a wise move to stop any medication and go alternative, when you have good reasons for being on main stream meds. Alternative meds such as St Johns Wort is very effective after a few mths use - for depression however it does interact poorly with many meds

ICU agitation and fluctuations in settings. Anyone else going or have gone through this?
Hi. First time posting and wanted to share my rollercoaster struggles of worrying so far. It's been more comforting reading about so many others going through the same situations and getting the best outcome eventually! I wish everyone the very best in their recoveries My dad is currently in ICU after

COVID x STROKE
Can anyone help ? ...my dad is in ICU recovering from Covid and a major stroke brought on by it. He is awake but is on a ventilator alternating with CPAP via a tracheostomy. He can’t speak because of the tracheostomy and has no movement at all in his right side. We obviously haven’t even able to visit

Results : Organic Acid Test (OAT) from Great Plains Laboratory.
I wanted to share the details of the results for my mother, based on Urine test . Hopefully, this will help a few on this forum. I am only indicating the High/Low items in the report. The remaining ( of the total of 77 items) were within the Ref. Range. See attached sample report from their website

Untreated sleep apnea is associated with flu hospitalization.
As we approach flu season, adults with obstructive sleep apnea may want to take extra precautions. A study published online as an accepted paper in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine is the first to find that patients with sleep apnea who did not use CPAP therapy were more likely to be hospitalized
