Worried about prednisolone and azathioprine
Well had a face to face with rheumatology yesterday after feeling dreadful for most of this year. Had bloods , urine and stool specimens put away prior to appointment and more taken whilst there. She has started me on prednisolone until end of year, then planning to add in azathioprine. Said my lupus

Dual Immunotherapy Prolongs Survival While Avoiding Chemotherapy in Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma
The randomized phase III CheckMate 743 trial breaks new ground in malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) by establishing the benefit of a chemotherapy-free regimen in patients with previously untreated disease. Data from a prespecified interim analysis, based on a minimum follow-up of 22 months, showed

Hi all: I just found out I have obstructive sleep apnea to go with the restless legs syndrome and Parkinson’s. The CPAP machine and service costs a lot more - almost double - than ordering the machine itself. Do you find the service worth it, especially for first timers? My somnologist sent me to the

Anxiety and vent weaning? Also a novel of my moms icu experience
Long story but I will try to make this as short as I can. My mom has been on the ventilator for 3 months. She ended up in the hospital having trouble breathing and she had a low heart rate. She had to to get put on the ventilator. She was getting better, got off of the ventilator and out of the ICU but

Back pain
Hey my friends just checking to see if any of you have ever had RFA on you back? My pain management doctor wants to do that because other than pain meds there is nothing that can be done for my back. I saw a neurosurgeon and she did mri with contrast. She said that she would have to give me a whole

Feeling Sad
My beloved partner has been through the mill these past 5 weeks and I need some reassurance. He went in for elective surgery in a brain aneurysm, suffered a stroke during surgery, had two further surgeries for bleeds and clots and will be, tomorrow, two weeks out if an induced coma. He is my soul mate

Masks for Sleep Apnea
Good Morning everyone Need some advice. My husband was diagnosed 4 years ago with sleep apnea, along with PF. He was given a CPAP machine for night time along with an oxygen machine. Up until a few months ago all worked well, but for some unknown reason he appears to have become allergic to the mask

My thyroid tests typically show normal T3/T4 and suppressed TSH, my latest tests: T3: 4.95 (2.63-5.69) T4: 14.65 (9-19) TSH*: 0.05 (0.27-4.2) * Note: my TSH is typically at this level but I have seen it get to normal level ~1 when T4/T3 drop close to lower range. I was also diagnosed with moderate sleep

What do you know about (unconventional) DMSO?
Is anyone familiar with treating oneself with DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide)? I have seen a report (www.cancertutor.com) saying you can use it at home with either colloidal silver OR chlorine dioxide OR MSM. Allegedly, any of these three latter substances are said to break down the cancer cell wall, as long

Dealing with probable but undiagnosed sleep apnea
So I got sort of a diagnosis of benign fasciculation syndrome over a year and a half ago, and have been in misery since dealing with it all the time. It basically means random muscles around my body twitch sporadically, sometimes constantly, without stopping. I saw three neurologists and all of them

Hi All, I came across an advert on instagram for Snorepod. Manufactured by Jeeno Electronics as an alternative to CPAP. Has anyone ever heard of this and even tried one?

Hypericum perforatum: St. John’s Wort
Found this little beauty by a small man made pond while taking a little walk about yesterday. Hypericum is one of my herbal allies that can really help put some sunshine in my brain when it’s been days and days of cloudy or stormy. There are many ancient superstitions regarding this herb. It’s name

Do you know when you're having afib?
I had afib for six months before an ablation in November 2016. In October I'd started using a CPAP machine. I also have a Pacemaker for bradycardia; it keeps track of any afib episodes, and I've had none since the ablation. The question is whether I should stay on the Xeralto, blood thinner to counter
