Movicol

Does anyone else find Movicol completely useless?! I’m 5 sachets deep today and have no urge whatsoever. Unless it’s a delayed effect in which case the next few days are going to be…interesting 🤷🏻‍♀️

I take Movicol for chronic constipation due to sluggish bowel. Of course this has now worried me (health anxiety). Can anyone reassure me or am I worrying needlessly (as I do 😔)

Hi Eric advised us to ask for movicol for our 5 year old who has never been been dry. He pooed daily but also wets daily.

Since taking Movicol for slow transit and frequent impactions I am suffering with huge pressure in my bowel PLUS I cannot get the dosage of Movicol right even reducing/increasing by half a sachet.

Hi, My 7 year old daughter has recently been prescribed movicol to help with constipation and overflow which has been causing her to have accidents. For the last week she has been on 3 sachets a day and in the last few days has been soiling herself numerous times a day.

I have ibs and bam so over the last few I have had ct scan endoscopy and ultrasound didn't find nothing major my problem is I take colesevelam for the bam 1-2 a day but it causes really bad constipation I do take movicol to get me going again but get really bad stomach pains on a morning, I have been

Drink loads of water have tried lactulose ( in fact used for years ) but since this nightmare with movicol will not work anymore . To be fair Movicol is the only thing that works but the side effects is killing me and my dignity !

I took 2 imodium 2 days ago and now Ive got cramps (I very rarely take imodium) can I now take movicol? I have ibs mixed any advice would be much appreciated?

Also on days he decides to eat aloy of fruit is movicol still a good idea !?? He doesn't wothold poo toileting wise he announces right away to us and goes lol. He understands getting poo out keeps his tummy OK.

I’m having a right battle with my gps getting more movicol. Why are they so difficult? Are we there? Are we close? His tummy is now completely flat, no foul smell, just losing patience with the wiping 😂😂.

My 5 year old is on day 3 of the max dose of Movicol for disimpaction and has been having brown watery stools for about 24 hours but this morning she did this. Is this normal? Is it potentially part of the blockage breaking up?

We have been put on a regime of 1 Movicol sachet a day and 1 Bisacodyl tablet a day. She is having accidents 16 times minimum a day. The constant liquid stool has been happening for as long as we can remember and she hasn’t passed a ‘typical’ stool since September 2022.

Not sure it makes any difference but he has hirschsprungs disease and had an op when he was a baby and has been on movicol since he was 1. Yesterday his stool was watery and I thought today would be the day we'd be able to start reducing.

I suffer with slow transit colon, have a small enterocele and rectocele, I currently take prucalopride, movicol and nortriptyline, I will be starting irrigation too, which worries me due to the rectum pain attacks.

Or should I request movicol instead? thanks

My 12 year old daughter is impacted and she's done 7 days of Klean-Prep in hospital after 3 weeks of Movicol. It feels like it's not working as she's only passing watery stools, nothing solid at all. Is this normal does anyone know please?
