I was on three movicol 3 docusate and senna aday, for over a year, my doctor wanted to swap senna to Fibrogel, I am struggling at that amount at getting it in before it thickens and after eating and then having a drink afterwards, today after I took it within 20 minutes it was like it all the liquid came round out on its own. I had had a bowel movement before breakfast. So I am really scared I am going to be dehydrated , will things settle down or will I end up with impaction

I don't know how much Fybogel you're taking but for many it can have bad effect and continual use of herbal laxatives is not good. I presume you've been given it for constipation but it's often the case that one needs something to bulk-up the stool so have something to push on.
I am not sure of what you are asking, but perhaps just make sure you are hydrated.

I have had the same experience as you. My GP wanted me to change from a laxative to increased fibre. It did take getting used to but it was well worth it. I am now on 3 Fybogel sachets a day. The trick is to have the water and spoon ready, pour the contents of the sachet into the water, then stir and swallow immediately before the contents thicken. Good luck.
