alternating diarrhoea and constipation with ebdo

hi all

I’m wondering if anyone has any experi nice of alternating bowel movements with endo?

Typically I’d have really awful bowel episodes where I nearly pass out until I have diarrhoea and then it would settle down from a 9/10 to about a 5 or 6/10 pain. Often this upset phase would last max of 3 days but usually 1. Endo diagnosed roughly 18 years ago and was on return and back of cervix plus bladder. It was minimal.

More recently my pain has blurred much more to all the weeks rather than maybe 1-2 per month. I had the mirena replaced but a gap of 15 months with no protection.

I’m post mirena insertion but pain and symptoms are still hard going. The alternating bowel is quite extreme. From one end to the other. I’ve just had a faecal sample test which was negative. Had a TVUS which showed nothing of note.

The swings are so severe that I’m often surprised wondering if I have food poisoning. I’m utterly shattered. Currently have a small bleed so could be triggering the bout but its meaning I can’t work and barely functioning.

My little boy is recovering and I’m struggling to help him after his surgery. It’s horrible. Be grateful for any advice on how to manage or how to react without pushing myself the other way (eg laxatives or movicol or Imodium). I think I can’t predict my bleeds at the moment so run the risk of taking a laxido when I’m about to ‘get loose’ again. Sorry for the ramble.

Sorry to hear this, its awful !

Yes I have endo/adeno and suffer with the same things. The pain can be so extreme and if I was not near a toilet, would actually poo myself. I am being referred to the colonoscopy department, ask your GP if you can be referred. There could be endo on your bowels causing this, ( I notice sometimes eating spicy food can trigger it also with the intense urge to poo or when I 'm going to start my period)
