Mirena

I was finally diagnosed when I had a laparoscopy back in May of 2018, they said they successfully removed all that was there and they put in a Mirena coil as treatment and I was under the impression that, since I had such a mild case, I would be fine.

Fertility treatment - traumatic birth with postpartum haemorrhage and poorly healed episiotomy - very poor postnatal care- leading to PND and surgery to repair episiotomy site (cancelled twice) -partial expulsion of mirena coil (now removed) and really bleak picture painted at emergency gynae clinic

Hi, I’m a couple of weeks away from a diagnostic laparoscopy for suspected endometriosis and fitting a marina coil to manage symptoms. I’ve struggled with extreme pain and bleeding for just over 2 years and am hospitalized quite regularly, just wondering if anyone had experience of a coil treatment after

I also had the mirena inserted. After recovering from my op fully I had a few months where my pain was significantly reduced and in fact my pain on my lower left side had gone.

Hi all, I had my Mirena coil removed back in March and had 2 periods since. Started trying for a baby this week. I have the Ovia Fertility app which i'm to track my periods and cervical fluid. Should i be having sex everyday on the fertile week? and don't need to the rest of the month?

The mirena coil is out and I’m waiting for a period. My consultant told me I have a good chance of conceiving naturally! (What?!) as he has seen the last two patients who had polys removed falling pregnant.

Hi all I had the mirena coil removed on Wednesday - was seen at sexual health clinic as an emergency because i have had no end of problems with it since it was put in on 20 th January and as I had had another heavy bleed they told me to go in. Suspected partial expulsion so had to be taken out.

Hi All, I had the Mirena coil fitted 5 days ago which seemed to go fine until after 48hrs.. I have been experiencing the most horrific pain and ended up in hospital on Morphine. Tests and scans were inconclusive and I need to go back tomorrow but suspect coil has moved.

Hope you’re all ok ❤️ just wondering if anyone has ever had severe ongoing breast pain while on the Mirena coil? I’ve always had breast pain but this has gotten unbearable. I can’t even touch my boobs lightly, I can’t touch my nipples.

Hi, hope someone can help! I’m having some issues with my coil. Usually, I struggle to feel the strings as they are really high up but yesterday I felt a bit off side, very tired and moody so last night I checked for my strings and noticed that they were very low down like at the entrance of the vagina

Then my biopsy revealed abnormal cells and the need for treatment: 6 months mirena coil, biopsy, 6 months without coil, biopsy- before I could start DE treatment. Age almost 43. I was devastated.

Hi all I just have a question regarding the mirena coil. I have a complex gynae history and my consultant recommended mirena coil for heavy bleeding. Had it fitted on 20th January this year. My mood has been terrible. Very low.

I have dealt with this by being on various forms of the pill on and off over the years but stopped taking it about 5 or 6 years because of various side effects from them; I tried the Mirena coil after this but suffered severe rash and itching so had it removed.

I had the mirena coil fitted 20th January this year. Recommended by gynae for heavy bleeding. No end of problems with it. Seen on Wednesday to have it removed as I was getting so fed up with it.

Hi ladies, So I've had the mirena coil for over 3 years. But from about August last year I started having pains similar to what I would have during periods but with no bleeding. So they've been gradually getting worse and basically this month I've been getting a slight bleed for about 7 days.

I had the mirena coil in for nearly 2 years when it started to become uncomfortable. I had it removed last summer, nearly a year ago now. Firstly, having it removed was horrendous. It got stuck and the nurse just yanked. I felt like my innards were coming out she said that was normal.

After having my Lap on 27th Feb I had Mirena Coil fitted, they suspected Adenomyosis as bulky uterus. I have been having headaches across my eyes and back of head/neck pain which started about a month after the coil was fitted and is daily now is this normal??

I’ve been on the mirena coil for a year now and was on the depo injection for years before that. I haven’t had a natural period for years and in fact not bled at all since getting the coil up until the month after my recent surgery.

20 years of pain, 3 laparoscopic surgeries, 10 years on & off of zoladex, numerous Mirena coils. This is what failed endometriosis treatment looks like.
