Is my endo back?

AmberleySteenhagen profile image

I was finally diagnosed when I had a laparoscopy back in May of 2018, they said they successfully removed all that was there and they put in a Mirena coil as treatment and I was under the impression that, since I had such a mild case, I would be fine. Since last summer I've been having random pain on and off and have had tests and an internal ultra-sound so all that's left I guess is that my Endo has come back? I don't get periods anymore due to the coil so there's not really a pattern with the pain but, over the past few months, I've been getting it weekly at least. I'm just not sure what to do now, as most of the time it's not bad enough that it's stopping me from living my life so I almost don't feel like it's worth pushing my doctors to do something as I spoke to them and they just gave me painkillers

My endo pain kept getting worse until I could not pass another period due to the pain. Hence, I had to have an emergency hysterectomy at 28 years old. My abdomen was full of endo, plus I had rectal bleeding every month which were with heavy blood clots. But this continued because my ovaries were not taken due to my young age. I am now 64 and still have rectal bleeding. It has not been easy having a life of pain.

I'm so sorry to hear of your struggle. I am worried because my pain is getting worse every month but it still isn't as terrrible as it was before. I am worried that the doctors won't take me seriously enough and it will get really bad.

You will have to keep telling your Consultant and GP how you are suffering, to get it sorted. Do not give up, it is the only way they will take you serious.
