How long does Prostap take to work?

Hi everyone

I have been diagnosed with endo and adenomyosis. I had my second lap in December to remove endo and it was also discovered that by bowel and ovary were stuck together. My surgeon said this would have been the causing of my constant pain on my lower left side and be separated them in the surgery. I also had the mirena inserted.

After recovering from my op fully I had a few months where my pain was significantly reduced and in fact my pain on my lower left side had gone. Unfortunately over the past couple of months this pain on my left side has slowly been increasing again to the point now it is constant and unbearable (plus the other usual endo and Adenomyosis cramping and pulling pain but these aren’t constant so more manageable for me). I have had another ultrasound which shown that my bowel and left ovary are again stuck together.

My consultant thinks it’s likely my left ovary is causing this pain in my left side and suggested prostap for 6 months. If this helped he would then recommend removing my ovary if the pain returned.

My question is how long does prostap take to work it it’s going to work? My consultant had said he would hope it would work within 2 weeks but it is now over 2 weeks and I haven’t noticed any improvement at all. I also luckily haven’t had any side effects.

Thanks in advance for your help xx

Hi

I was on prostap last year for 3 months to help gynae see if my symptoms were endo related before lap. It took 4-6weeks before I saw some improvement with pain.

Hi I had 4 rounds of prostap and it didn't agree with my body so they stopped it. I've tired different Mimi pills too and same again hasn't helped. Waiting to find out what next for me. I had lab 3 years ago also.

Hi, I've been on Prostap for almost 2 years now. It worked a treat for me. No periods and no pain. I think it did take about 4-6 weeks for it to eliminate both but for me it was definitely worth it. I had my last injection in January :(

Hope its as effective for you as it was me.
