Mirena

We decided to change my hormonal treatment as the mirena didn't seem to be helping so I've switched onto the combined pill (I've been prescribed Levast) rolling 3 packets together.

I have tried the mini pill and had the mirena coil fitted in January. Since having it fitted though it seems to have got worse. I am in pain nearly all the time.

After many years i finally had scans, bloods, and nothing showed up, i then had a laproscopy in 2018 and it showed endometriosis not severe apparantley just in the pelvic region, they used a treatment called Helica and inserted a Mirena coil.

Hi, I’ve had the mirena coil for 6 months now but seem to have pain throughout the month rather than just leading up to period. Still have some spotting with mirena. Has anyone else found the coil hasn’t helped or made it worse?

I have the mirena coil fitted but still getting a lot of symps - including sickness/nausea and huge hormonal imbalances. Has anyone else had the depo injections? Pros? Cons? Thanks all!

I’d like to retry oral contraceptives again as they worked very well for me prior to getting the Mirena. However I am apprehensive to have my IUD taken out a year early because I have Anxiety (currently taking medication) and I’ve heard/read about the “Mirena crash”.

Hi everyone, I had an appointment with my GP today after I rung up on Friday about the pain I was experiencing 10 days post lap & having a Mirena coil fitted. Yesterday I had the worst pain I’d ever had in my life along with bleeding.

Hi all, Just wondered if anyone had experience of a dislodged Mirena? I had a smear and was told they couldn’t see or feel my coil, I’ve now been referred to have an internal ultrasound.

She recommended trying contraception first to see if it alleviated the pain, stating the Mirena was the most effective. I didn't really want to go on any contraception, but I didn't feel like I had any alternative.

To combat my endo symptoms my doc referred me to try a 4th contraceptive- the coil. When i went, I wasn't on my period but everything went wrong, my doctor attempted to measure my uterus and my heart rate plummeted I got the most intense pain and pretty much fainted.Thankfully they tipped me upside

Hi, went to see the nurse today to get this coil removed. Unfortunately she couldn’t get it out and after 2 tries (very painful) it seems to be stuck. I now have an appointment to see a Dr but I don’t want to go through this pain again. What are my options? I know it needs to be removed, but can I

During my laparoscopy, they inserted the mirena iud. My pain and bleeding has started to increase again and in particular, when I’m doing intense exercise (weight lifting, netball) it makes it significantly worse.

I feel like the mirena coil is doing the same now. My mood swings have got worse which is my main concern as I seem to be getting more anxiety with it. Other side effects are - more spots and a lot of hair loss and unpredictable spotting.

Not only am I still bleeding and awaiting an ultrasound to see if my body is rejecting the Mirena coil they fitted, but I now have an infection in my belly button incision. I noticed it had some dried blood around it earlier in the week, and a small lump.

So I’m thinking of having a Mirena coil fitted in the hope it will stop or reduce my monthly bleeding. My thinking being that this would hopefully keep my stores at a good level. (I’m 50 by the way so we all know what’s just around the corner. And I don’t need the coil for contraception.)

I’ve had the mirena coil since may but every month I’ve been bleeding a lot more than usual and I have been in absolute agony with it still and it last for about 3-4 weeks, the gynaecologist have said they think it’s endometriosis which is why they suggested the coil, but I was wondering if anyone else

My mirena coil was being pushed out by my body and my doctor thought we should try taking it out and fitting a new one in. I had a traumatic and painful experience where my whole body shut down and was in incredible pain and almost in and out of consciousness.

I have the mirena could and take progesterone tablets but I still bleed for a couple of days at a time every couple of days. During which I suffer with awful bowel cramps and nausea to the point where I can't eat and I want to make myself sick to try and get some relief.

I have a mirena coil in situ, I’ve had that around 2 years ago. Just wondering whether this is a coil issue or a sign that the ends is re-growing? Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do about it? Thanks!

I have since had the Mirena coil fitted and whilst it has helped previously the past year my pain has returned and I also have irregular bleeding. Has anyone else experienced this after having the coil fitted?
