Mirena Coil Gone wrong?

To combat my endo symptoms my doc referred me to try a 4th contraceptive- the coil. When i went, I wasn't on my period but everything went wrong, my doctor attempted to measure my uterus and my heart rate plummeted I got the most intense pain and pretty much fainted.Thankfully they tipped me upside down to get more blood to my head. I asked them to try twice more but again the exact same thing happened. It was terrifying watching my heart rate go from 90 to 40 in seconds.

My doctor said this was normal since your uterus is directly linked to your heart and advised that i would have to go full under to have the procedure down. I have never heard of this? I am now suffering with my relentless periods and trying to manage with pain meds

I had a general anaesthetic for my first coil, it was very nice to not experience the pain! My second one was after I had my son so I went ahead without a general as they said it would be easier - it wasn’t and if I could I’d go general again :)

Oh i wish, the general had no affect at all. Not a big fan of having to go fully under for it

The general anaesthetic is going fully under, that’s what I had :)

Oh sorry! I always confuse the two, did you request the general ?

My consultant offered it because I hadn’t had any babies, have a tilted womb etc so it was easier to have the general
