Early Mirena removal advice?

I’m 23 - never had a regular cycle, typically three to four periods a year at completely random times. I had a mirena IUD put in four years ago (age 19) after being talked into it by my GP at the time which stopped my periods altogether. I’d like to have it removed largely because I’m curious as to how my cycle would be now but also because of weight gain I’ve experienced. I’d like to retry oral contraceptives again as they worked very well for me prior to getting the Mirena. However I am apprehensive to have my IUD taken out a year early because I have Anxiety (currently taking medication) and I’ve heard/read about the “Mirena crash”. Any tips or advice from somebody who has experienced it or is more informed than me?
