Hysteroscopy, D&C, biopsy and Mirena coil
I just wanted to thank you for being there when I needed someone to talk to. I had put my constant bleeding for over 10 months down to 'the change' and my lack of energy and tiredness I thought was my age (I'm 51) however after Drs identifying anaemia and referring me to gynae, I had a scan, they found

Surgery and the coil??
The doctors have told me to try on the
Mirena
coil instead of the pill (Lucette) and I’ll have it inserted during my surgery. I was wondering if anyone has had the coil and what their experiences were, as all I can find are bad ones which is making me a bit apprehensive about having it.

Endometriosis excision surgery
The surgeon also inserted a
mirena
coil during the surgery but I'm getting bleeding still and like this horrible water bloody discharge. Just wanted to see if any of you had the same feeling 4 weeks on.

Pill or no pill?
Hi everyone, I had my lap done last year, my surgoen fitted a marina coil. My body really didn’t agree with the coil and tried to reject it and it was awfully painful so bad it removed Feb this year. Since then i’ve been reluctant to go back on any contraception. I’ve been on lots of different pills

Ultrasound showed no cysts and 1 polyp and am getting
mirena
next week to see if symptoms subside and discuss polyp. If not, next step is a ct scan and possibly the “menopause” drug to see if I feel better and further out, laparoscopic surgery if all else fails to give answers.

Thickened uterine lining
Hi, I’m 51 years old (have 2 children) and had my 3rd
Mirena
coil inserted 18 months ago. The last two have lasted 4 years, however, with the latest I have started bleeding off and on for the last 4 months. Visited GP and was referred for an ultrasound and TVU which I had on Thursday.

Head is all over the place....
So it's back to surgery again and I'm trying out the
mirena
again even though it didn't suit me last time as apparently if that doesn't work I need to choose between quality of life and a hysterectomy. For the first time in 16/17 years since I was first diagnosed my head feels utterly fried!!!!!

Mirena coil - has yours moved?
In June 2016 I had the
Mirena
fitted by a GP - within 3 months it was clear it wasn’t working and an ultrasound confirmed it was in the wrong place due to a tilt in my uterus. This resulted in me going back to my specialist and he fitted a new one in November via a Hysteroscopy.

My experience...and help if you can
Hi, I was diagnosed with endo when I was 17, I'm now 33. I had various different treatments and was lucky enough to fall pregnant with my son who is now 3. I've learnt to 'cope' with the pain and extreme fatigue throughout the years. One treatment I found really helped for a few years before I conceived

Not coping 😕
I got a
Mirena
Coil fitted in 2014, which definitely helped my IBS. However, now I am noticing the pain is so much worse, the urgency is worse and my entire gut is on fire. I also have hiatus hernia, gallstones (but a healthy gallbladder) and chronic daily headache.

Advice please
Hi, I had been told that I have suspected endometriosis as I am too big to have it checked properly, I was fitted with the
mirena
coil 3 months ago and literally had to take two weeks off work as I was in such agony from it.

Doctors dont believe me about my symptoms
It was treated and I wad given the
mirena
which I had to get removed as it made all my symptoms worse. I had a meeting with a pelvic pain team who said that it could not be endometriosis as it was removed during surgery and since the coil didnt work it wasnt endometriosis too.

Heavy bleeding??
I just don't know if this is normal for endo, I had periods throughout being on
Mirena
but they've not been this bad for a while and I don't know what to do.

Mirena Coil
I've done a bit of research and found some promising information about the
mirena
coil. Was wondering if someone has used it and found it useful? Any side effects? Does it reduce the pain?

Pain after having Mirena coil fitted
Hi everyone, I had the
Mirena
coil fitted two weeks ago during my laparoscopy and I started having bad period pain and bleeding about 5 days ago which has slowly got worse and worse. The doctor has prescribed me tranexamic acid which is helping with the bleeding but not so much the pain.

Pain with mirena and endo
It was suggested in my last appointment I try the
mirena
coil. I had the
mirena
fitted two weeks ago and I have had increasingly bad cramps since. I've seen the doctor's twice and they have tried different pain killers and suggested trying "distraction techniques".

Is the Mirena Coil giving my daughter mood swings, depression.
She has been moody ever since but she had the
Mirena
Coil fitted a few months ago and had even more mood swings. She has had a small op a week ago and is on Augmentin amoxicillin but has got worse with her outbursts, screaming at me, crying, shouting, calling of names.
