Hi, I’m not yet 100% diagnosed with Endo but have my surgery in September. The doctors have told me to try on the Mirena coil instead of the pill (Lucette) and I’ll have it inserted during my surgery.
I was wondering if anyone has had the coil and what their experiences were, as all I can find are bad ones which is making me a bit apprehensive about having it. Any information good or bad will be greatly appreciated.

I was diagnosed with endo 7 years ago and given the Mirena coil at the same time. I bled for months after then my periods completely stopped but I still got cramping around time of the month and the occasional spotting. This lasted about 3 years then my endo returned. I’m on my second Mirena now and highly considering having it removed due to other side effects like low mood, sever constipation, tiredness, low libido, acne... the list goes on. This is my experience of it but have tirelessly read so much about negative things about all types of contraception and fear that they might not be a complete fix out there yet. Good luck with everything hope you get sorted. Take care.
Yes unfortunately we’re all different what works for one might not for another, all trial and error. Mirna has been by far best Iv found so far though and I have tired a lot of others. Feel like maybe I just need to give my body a rest for a while. Xx
