adenomyosis/mirena coil

I’ve been trying the mirena coil for my adenomyosis - have had it in for two months now.

At the moment I’m finding my period to be 10x worse. I’m extremely nauseous, vomitting, and the pain is awful when cramping. Before, I had only had pain so bad that I vomitted twice very randomly and years apart. However now, it’s happened twice in a row.

I’m having an ultrasound in a couple of hours to check it’s in place correctly.

So far the only positive is that having intercourse is no longer painful which is big for me.

Wanted to know what other people’s experiences were? If others were similar and if I should just wait it out?

Mirena’s have given me 16 years of relief. It takes as long as it takes to settle down. We are all different. They will say give it 6 months to settle. If it’s in situ via the scan. Try and wait it out. If you can. If not, that’s ok.

For me it stopped horrific bleeding and pain. I had a 3 day light period needing only a panty liner. It was so life changing for me. I had energy and enjoyed life.

Fingers crossed for you 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

hey

Sorry you are suffering 😔 and I hope you can get some relief

I’ve had merina coil for 2.5 years now I still have terrible pain and irregular prolonged periods still but bleeding is so much less still loads heavier than the average person but a blessing to me - I have endo and recently diagnosed adenomyosis ( I have been strongly recommended a hysterectomy due to heaviness still with coil ,I’m 41 years old)
