Hi, I have had the mirena since excision surgery almost 2 years ago. I am having lots of strange symptoms from excessive thirst before bowel movements, increased anxiety, acid reflux and GI issues, tingling in hands and feet and sporadic pelvic cramps, fatigue, bloating, nausea and headaches. I have had so many blood tests but all have come back normal so I can only think I have hormonal imbalance from the Mirena. Has anyone else had the Mirena removed and if so did you suffer a crash or symptoms after? My periods are less painful and very light bleeding but I just can't take all these other symptoms daily which is affecting everyday life. Any advice on what to do next much appreciated as I feel so alone!

Mirena Side effects and possible removal

Hi ☺️
I have been diagnosed by lap18 years. Mirena’s gave me my life back by making my periods very light and pain free. I have had them removed and a new one inserted. No hormone crashes for me. There have been gaps between insertion as I decided to try life without it. All my symptoms came back from Endo. So I had a new one inserted. Everyone’s body is different. The majority of people with Endo has a slow working bowel. This is from Jessica Duffin’s work search for Endobelly coach. Lots of free resources.
For me, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Before you remove the Mirena, as it is helping you. The weird symptoms could be discussed with your Endo consultant. If you do have it removed. Do you think that will improve symptoms.
Could you be in perimenopause (the beginning of the menopause) as that has 82 symptoms - it can start as early as 35 years old. The Balance App I recommend for resources and it’s free. The treatment now is HRT and not antidepressants. Sorry I don’t know how old you are. Apologies if this scares you.
Here if you want more info and you can get a second opinion from another GP.
Hugs from me if you like them 🫂🫶🏻
