Wondering what is going on
Since Tuesday I have been feeling kind of sick. I was running a slight fever of 100 degrees on Tuesday. I took a motrin and that brought my fever down. I had a migraine from Saturday until Wednesday. Now I feel like I have a pressure on the right side of my head. My nose is a little bit stuffy and my

Week5/Run3 - 20 mins
I don't know why but I'm feeling rather deflated after having completed this run. I thought I'd be over the moon like I was when I did the 8 mins run (twice). It maybe due to lack of sleep and stopping the nicotine patches today. Looking forward to a day off and starting Week 6 on Sunday. Hope everybody

Nicotine & benefits in gastrointestinal tract
Hi all, I was first diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2007 & this was later changed to a diagnosis of Crohn's in more recent times. I am also now going through the process of diagnosis of what is believed to be GPA\Wegeners. I also have 2 discs that are degenerating so we have 3 chronic diseases

Day 20 😀Smoke free
I'm on day 20 today so feeling pleased with myself. Last 3 days iv been cold turkey and not been using nicotine patches. Still using my electronic ciggie but it's 0% nicotine. Must admit I do feel better already. I had a horrible cough prior to stopping. This has now stopped. My skin and hair also feels

Trying to choose a power chair and car, and getting bogged down.
First I must say I do not have access to Motability. I always worked from home and did not get into serious difficulties with my mobility until relatively recently, after I was 65 - so no DLA ; no Motability. I need a machine that will enable me to go for "walks" when I have driven somewhere. I am

COPD Going Backwards ?
I was diagnosed with COPD around 2012. The diagnosis was moderate, but I think that perhaps it was at the bad end of moderate. I had at least one flare up due to a chest infection which saw me hospitalized for a short period. I was in a right state before going into Hospital. The infection saw me waking

Ovary Removal: Bad Back Pain
Hi I'm seeking advice or any type of similar stories.... I just turned 19. Throughout my summer I've spent it going back and forth to the emergency room, OBGYN, and radiologist. Not knowing anything serious was going on internally. I began to feel back pain and it become more and more excruciating.

Hard to swallow at times?
Hi there, I was diagnosed at 10 years old with CMT1a. I am now 39 and starting to see some of the atrophy I was hoping would skip me. :) Recently I started having some issues swallowing. It feels like I have something lodged at the bottom right area of my throat. I feel really bothered by it when I lie

Tell Me Your Symptoms And Maybe I Can Help Explain Them
Okay. So if you deal with anxiety symptoms, I'm here to say I understand. I've experienced many many wacky symptoms, believed I've had many health issues, but were always proven false, and if you want an explanation as to why it happens, please ask. I've researched, I've read, I've listened, so please

Hello to all my fellow Cmt sufferers in the UK : Does any 'Health-Unlocked' member have any advice, or experience, on how effective is the REVITIVE Circulation Booster, or an equivalent device ? This device uses, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) , where small electrical impulses are

Smoking and thyroid - Thyroid and smoking.
Smoking and thyroid. Thyroid and smoking. The inter-relation between smoking, very likely largely due to nicotine, and thyroid has been discussed here and elsewhere many times. The place it does NOT get mentioned is anywhere concerned with giving up smoking. You can get nicotine patches, anti-depressents

Assistive devices for CMT
Hi people, Anybody use any special tools to compensate for the neuropathy? I carry a needle nosed pliers on my keychain, and in the glove compartment of my car, in order to use credit cards at the ATM. Also a "neuropathy" button hooker---a wire loop on a plastic handle, purchased from WalMart online

Can tight stomach muscles cause burning?
I've been experiencing a burning muscle feeling localized around my lower abdomen. Taking Motrin or anything does nothing. It's uncomfortable but it tends to lessen when I do something. My mom used to be a massage therapist and says my stomach feels (when im relaxing it) like I've just done a ton of

Post-Polio Syndrome v Charcot-Marie Tooth
I am struck by the number of times people with CMT mention other health issues...which reflect my own experiences. I suspect that most CMTites have a packages of health problems to deal with and it makes me wonder if there is a causal link between some of them. I will list a few of mine in a moment.
