Advice Needed!
Can anyone tell me why all us sufferers are not exempt from these medicals with ATOS? My HNPP is really really bad at the moment, I have a floppy left leg and my hands are totally numb, I can't even pop out my tablets; thank goodness the weekend is here and my daughter can help me, but seriously why

Medical!! Has anyone kept their benefit?
Hi has anyone with HNPP or CMT had one of these stupid medicals and managed to hold on to their benefits as a result of it? All I keep reading is the usual total negativity from sufferers as the examiners try to catch them out with silly questions! I am beginning to get worried now as I have one on

Swelling feet and ankles
I have CMT1a ~ Does anyone suffer from swollen feet and ankles? Diuretics don't help. They are usually bearable but occasionally become quite painful and I have to elevate my legs for a few hours to get any relief. They soon return and it is now a chronic condition with which I am learning to live. Any

Does anyone suffer from sleep apnea?
Hi, about the time I was diagnosed with CMT 1a (10 years ago) my wife noticed that I stopped breathing for long periods when sleeping. I was referred by my GP to a sleep consultant. He took one look at me and said "I don't believe you have sleep apnea, you're fit and not overweight, you just don't fit

New to the site son diagnosed today aged 5
We too have been diagnosed today. Our son is 5 but has had epilepsy since the age of 1, and today's results have come after many years of trying to establish the cause of this. Not sure that we've established that, but we can confirm CMT! He already uses a wheelchair for any distance as he has had mobility

A question for those using nicotine patches
Hullo! When it comes to the time where you should drop down to the smaller patches does it feel any different? Do you feel like the smaller amount of nicotine makes you crave cigs more, or send you into moods? I will be on my 8th week next week and I am really starting to get panicky about it :( xx

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Guide provided by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign
Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is named after the three neurologists who first described the condition in 1886. Many different names have been used to describe Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease but the other commonly used name is hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy. This is an accurate term as it refers to

Pain management
What suggestions do people have for pain management? I have tried chiropratic intervention, massage therapy, cortizone shots and nerve blocks, accupuncture, heat and cold pacs but still have an unbelievable amount of pain. I cannot do a quarter of what i used to do and my sleep is constantly interrupted

Just a little info I have on my facebook related to Fibro
People with fibromyalgia say that their muscles feel like they have been pulled or overworked, and sometimes they twitch or cramp.8 Even the skin may feel badly sunburned.9 To help your family and friends relate to your fibromyalgia symptoms, have them think back to the last time they had a bad flu.

What is NRT?
NRT stands for Nicotine Replacement Therapy. When used properly, NRT really does help people stop smoking. Currently there are nicotine patches, gum, tablets, lozenges, inhalator, mouth spray and nasal spray. By using NRT, you are only getting the nicotine from the product, not the other
