Anxiety and A-Fib
I had anxiety over getting a Cochlear Implant done. I was taking Atarax on top of Zyrtec which causes QT Elongation. So I was diagnosed with AFIB and sent to the ER. Prescribed Metoprolol and a 81 mg aspirin. I didn't take the Metoprolol because it was on a Recall list by the FDA for 3 months as it

bisoprolol allergic?
I’ve been on biso for 2 years with not much problem, but now i got a different brand and it gives me allergic symptoms like: trouble breathing and swallowing, chest pain, makes me very lethargic, anxious and sleepy. I tried metoprolol and it gave me the same symptoms. I don’t why I can’t tolerate it.

Side Effects from Metoprolol 25mg
I am taking Metoprolol 25mg halved twice a day for AFib and having side effects of almost passing out or a weird feeling of like I would be passing out which has happened twice now. I'm taking it with Eliquis. Is anyone else having this symptom?

I discovered Metoprolol may cause arthralgia- myalgia
https://www.the-rheumatologist.org/article/case-report-metoprolol-induced-arthralgia/ I decided to not take that beta-blocker anymore. I still will take Amlodipine and Lisinopril and may ask to go on carvedilol again and still have a bunch of carvedilol pills I can take. It was after I was switched

Afib medications
I was diagnosed about half a year ago with Afib. I am trying to understand the medicines and their side effects better. I am currently on Amiodarone 200 mg and Metoprolol 50mg and have many unpleasant side effects. Need to get off these meds.

A Miracle Has Happened, also a Gentle Warning to Everyone Taking Flecainide
Hi Everyone I used to take 100mg Flecainide alongside 12.5mg of Metoprolol twice daily for many years - perhaps as many as 7 - 10 years. Last August my cardiologist looked at my ECG and said you need to stop taking Flecainide as it looks like that could be causing your problems - tiredness and breathless

Atrial Tachycardia and Flecainide
I was diagnosed two years ago with SVT- Atrial Tachycardia and had an ablation. I had successful resolution of the Atrial Tachycardia and then it suddenly returned in December of 2022. I went in for another ablation and it was unsuccessful as the EP could not induce the rhythm. I was super bummed

Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypercalciuria (excess calcium in urine) causing osteoporosis?
I've read a couple of osteoporosis forums and searched online and am not finding any information on hypercalciuria causing osteoporosis and its treatment (thiazide drugs which cause your kidneys to get rid of potassium and magnesium instead of calcium). I was diagnosed with osteoporosis (in my spine

Update on 5th post-ablation
Had my 5th ablation March 31st. Great for 2 weeks and then back into tachycardia with bouts of atypical afib tossed in (Kardia confirmed). Scheduled for a cardioversion May 12. Meanwhile on metoprolol and diltiazem (and anticoagulated of course). Completely idiopathic and hopefully just a blip during

Also Inspired by Paul's Post: beta blocker vs. calcium channel blocker
Hello fellow Afibbers, Although I thought to myself, "It's just me," this update might resonate with someone else. After my initial diagnosis a year and a half ago, I was put on the beta blocker metoprolol --first at a low dosage, then increasing to the max (100 mg / day). It did next to nothing in

Do all beta blockers cause fatigue?
After just reading Heyjude's question, mine is along a similar line.I've been on metoprolol for 4 months now since my HA. I am very fatigued all day. I tried going off it but HR went too high and I got short of breath doing minor tasks, so am back on it. Since all beta blockers lower HR and BP, will

Some Success with Avoiding Afib
After seeing my Afib rate of incidence go from once every couple of months to once a month to every 2 weeks -10 days, I finally got control of the factors which I believe were driving it.Doing that included: 1. Getting off of most of my blood pressure meds. (I only take 12.5 mg metoprolol twice a day
