Had my 5th ablation March 31st. Great for 2 weeks and then back into tachycardia with bouts of atypical afib tossed in (Kardia confirmed). Scheduled for a cardioversion May 12. Meanwhile on metoprolol and diltiazem (and anticoagulated of course).
Completely idiopathic and hopefully just a blip during the blanking period. Fortunately very few symptoms other than feeling like I’m moving in treacle.
It’s a strange beast. Probably headed toward trying sotolol or “going nuclear” with a pace & ablate. Consult with doc scheduled to discuss.

After my 3rd ablation about 5 years ago I went into tachycardia and AF, but around 6 weeks later a cardioversion put me right again and I've never had a fast heart rate since. Still in AF but now between 60-90 and I can cope with that. Lets hope you will be the same way - don't give up hope.
Have you ever thought about having the mini maze which is performed through the side of the rib cage, that appears to have a good success rate. It's something I ponder over, should my AF get really bad again.
If mini-maze is offered by Lovelace Heart Hospital and recommended by them, I’ll consider it! Otherwise, I’m not keen on the anecdotal stories I’ve heard regarding it.
I’m not sure what stories you have heard about the mini maze but I had AFib every few days, had the mini maze a year ago and have not had one episode since and am off all meds. I hope you get straightened out and back to life soon. Best of luck in whatever Avenue is right for you
My surgery team here at Lovelace also has cardio thoracic surgeons in addition to EPs. If they recommend it AND it is covered by Medicare Advantage I’ll consider it. It all depends on what my experts say.
