Going to have a pacemaker implanted this Friday! My journey continues, seeking QOL to improve, not good for over four months. Had six ablation (for atrial tachycardia) with six spots ablated by Texas Dr. I still have fluctuations in heart rate changing minute to minute almost., sitting still. I can’t handle high doses of Diltiazam (180mg-120mg) Even 30 mg is annoying as the rate changes so frequently Atenolol dropped heart rate low.
changing my care to my home state starting with pacemaker and then AV node ablation. Heart rate more high than low, but seeking relief. , so willing to try and “give in “ to PM idea.
History! AF since 2014, (funky skipped beats 2008- on Metoprolol ). Cardio version, PIP Flecanide 2015-16-17. Ablations 2017-developed flutter, further ablation 18-19. 2019- long OT ? wave on EKG- off Flecanide and Metoprolol.
2019 in persistent flutter., on Diltiazam, no apparent bad side effects. But wanted my heart to not have to work so hard, and …,,
Sought treatment in Texas with left appendage ablation and watchman for anticoagulant in 2020. Felt so great for two years plus. This is what happened in 2023!

Bless you it can't have been easy to have had 6 ablations and it's hard to be told that you need a pacemaker. Lets hope that it works well for you alongside the AV node ablation. A member on here discovered that she felt so well with just the pacemaker that she didn't have the planned AV node ablation.
thank you for your reply Jean, it means a lot to me, yea those are my prayers and wishes- things will improve. It’s been quite a journey but so thankful for this forum, like Bob said he tied his left arm down while sleeping. I love to sleep on my side with my arm up!
Had pacemaker fitted last September and AV node ablation in November. Life is very good now. Just had a walking holiday in Cornwall. 80 in October 🤸🏻♂️💃
Hello Tantaanna, had my pacemaker and av node ablated in 2021 after a couple of years feeling awful, passed out twice too. Now back to normal with a huge improvement in quality of life, golf 3 x times per week. Only tablet now is Apixaban, a blood thinner, which hopefully will stop any sign of a stroke
The Natalie team said my ablation of three weeks ago was successful. That is what I was told. I live 1000 miles from Natalie and if I need immediate concerns addressed, it’s too far away. I’ve had to go to ER three times. I still recommend Dr Natalie to anyone who asks! He is a great electrophysiologist
Yes I am still in the healing period, but for almost five months, sleep is not as it should be, my heart is working too hard, I am stressed, my family is stressed. I’m going with the decision that the clinic near me has suggested
